The Ho Chi Minh - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project has a total length of about 52,159km. In particular, the section from Ring Road 3 to Khanh Van Bridge along DT.747B road for about 6.5km remains in its current state. The section from Khanh Van Bridge to the end of the route is about 45,659km long and has 4 complete lanes. The road surface width is about 25.5m, and the designed speed is 100km/h. The route includes 4 intersections, 21 highway bridges, 5 direct overpasses, and 14 underground tunnels.

Reporting to the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee at the survey, leaders of localities: Tan Uyen, Bac Tan Uyen, Phu Giao, and Bau Bang said that localities have organized public meetings to implement land recovery, compensation work, and site clearance. The project has a total route length of about 18,950km, including the main Suoi Cai route to Tong Bang Bridge and the secondary Suoi Cai route to Ba Kien Bridge. The project aims to drain rainwater and treated wastewater for a 22,503-hectare basin including industrial zones, clusters, urban land, agricultural land, and other land in 10 wards of Tan Uyen City, contributing to improving the environment, and urban embellishment, as a premise for building 37.4km of regional roads.
Ho Chi Minh - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh Expressway will run parallel to the Suoi Cai project for about 6.8km, then intersect with the Suoi Cai project with a bridge across the Suoi Cai about 318.2m long.

According to the Project Management Board of the Provincial Agriculture and Rural Development, by the end of 2024, site clearance compensation will reach 95%, and the remaining will be completed in the first quarter of 2025. The construction volume of the package from Tho Ut Bridge to Ben San Bridge reaches about 40%, and it is continuing to implement the remaining construction packages.
Regarding the Urban Area No. 5 project in Tan Uyen City, this is the area where two large industrial park projects are being implemented: Nam Tan Uyen Industrial Park and Viet Nam - Singapore Industrial Park III. Agricultural land fund (rubber land) accounts for about 50% of the entire project planning area.

Through surveys and listening to reports from departments and branches, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the Ho Chi Minh - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project is a key project cared for by the Government and the Prime Minister. The project will connect with Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressway, connecting the Southeast area of Viet Nam with Tay Nguyen. Therefore, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested the Secretaries and Chairmen of localities to pay special attention, closely, and focus on compensation and site clearance, ensuring resettlement for people, and choosing the resettlement that is most beneficial to the people.
At the same time, research is to connect transport infrastructure with the planning of urban, commercial, and service areas along the highway axis to open new development spaces to attract high-quality labor sources to Binh Duong.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested sectors and localities to focus on speeding up progress, striving to start construction of the Ho Chi Minh - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway right after the Lunar New Year of At Ty to create a new atmosphere and motivation in the new year.
Regarding the project of dredging and reinforcing Suoi Cai, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee requested to focus capital on the project, research connecting canals on both sides of the stream to retain water, ensure ecology, and strive to complete the project in 2025.
