At the meeting, Prof. Jiao En expressed his pleasure to visit and work in Binh Duong. At the same time, he was impressed by the outstanding development of Binh Duong province in terms of transport infrastructure and industrial parks. He said that the purpose of his visit was to invite leaders of Binh Duong province along with units, businesses, and universities in the province to have a survey trip in Shanghai. Specifically, it would be a visit to the city governments of Shanghai, Pudong Area, and Jiading New City, a chance to conduct official meetings to exchange policies, and development experiences, and to strengthen cooperation between the two governments. It would also be a survey of the experience and success of the Chinese Free Trade Zone to learn about its management and operation model and discuss the feasibility of establishing a similar model in Binh Duong.

In addition, there would be cooperation activities in science-technology and education development, industrial parks and enterprise development, building the infrastructure, agricultural products and expanding markets trading, investment promotion, renewable energy and green economy, building a cross-border economic cooperation zone, etc.
Working with Prof. Jiao En, the Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung said that in the first 6 months of 2024, the province's GRDP increased by 6.19% compared to the same period in 2023. It has attracted FDI by June 30, 2024, the whole province currently has 4,311 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of 41,08 billion USD. Binh Duong currently ranks third in Viet Nam in attracting foreign investment capital, after Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. China currently ranks first among 65 countries and territories with foreign investment projects in Binh Duong province with 1,724 projects and a total investment capital of about 10,473 billion USD.
Currently, Binh Duong has 08 universities and 108 vocational education establishments, meeting the learning needs of the people and the human resource needs of businesses. At the same time, the province has planned in the Culture - Gymnastics - Sports - Health - Education - Science - Technology Complex in Bau Bang district a suitable land fund to form high-quality universities, serving human resource training for the entire region.

Appreciating the proposal of SJTU, the Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung said that organizing a working delegation of Binh Duong to visit and survey Shanghai's development areas has a very important meaning, contributing to promoting cooperative relations between Viet Nam - China in general and between Binh Duong province and Shanghai city in particular. He requested departments of Binh Duong province coordinate with SJTU to discuss and agree on a time to organize the survey delegation as proposed.
