Giving remarks at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Minh Hang – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs said that "Meet Korea 2024" was organized during a special time when Viet Nam – South Korea relations were in the best stage of development. The two parties have officially upgraded their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" in 2022. Political trust between the two countries is constantly being strengthened and cooperation in fields of outstanding development. South Korea has been Viet Nam's major economic partner. It is No.1 in direct investment, No.2 in tourism development cooperation, and No.3 in labor and trade cooperation. South Korean businesses investing in Viet Nam are successful and make important contributions to Viet Nam's socio-economic development.
Following the success of the "Meeting Korea" which had been held since 2015, this year's event has many important meanings, contributing to promoting economic diplomacy activities, promoting localities, and attracting revenue. It attracts investment and strengthens cooperation between localities, thereby making an important contribution to promoting the "Viet Nam – South Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership" relationship in the new period.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Vo Van Minh – Chairman of the (PPC) emphasized that Binh Duong is located in the Southern Key Economic Region - a dynamic, fast-growing, and strong economic region of the country, geographically adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, near the airport and international seaport. Promoting its geographical advantage as a trade gateway between provinces in the region, Binh Duong province has actively invested in developing modern and synchronous technical infrastructure, building a complete intra-regional and inter-regional transportation system, creating conditions for industrial development and planning for the construction of new urban areas.

At the moment, Binh Duong ranks third in Viet Nam in terms of attracting foreign investment (behind Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi) with nearly 4,300 projects, and a total investment capital of nearly 40.6 billion USD from 65 countries and territories. Particularly, South Korea is the fifth largest investor in Binh Duong with approximately 800 projects and a total investment capital of 3.4 billion USD.
Along with actively promoting foreign economic activities, Binh Duong has always actively expanded bilateral and multilateral cooperation with foreign localities and international organizations. Up to now, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperative relationships with 13 foreign localities, including Daejeon Metropolitan City and Gangnam District, Seoul (South Korea). At the local level, Ben Cat City, Thu Dau Mot City, and Di An City have signed friendship cooperation agreements with South Korean localities, contributing to deepening relationships and exchanges in many fields with South Korea.
During the 27 years of formation and development, Binh Duong has continuously strived to develop and is transforming strongly into digital economic development and green transformation. It has focused on attracting investors in the fields of high technology, technology 4.0, net-zero, environmental protection, less labor-intensive, and less land-intensive. The province has used clean and renewable energy to become a high-tech industrial center and a smart, civilized, and worth-living city.
"To achieve this goal, in the coming time, Binh Duong aims to attract investors from countries with experience in the fields of high technology industry, semi-conductor chip, and advanced electronic products industry. We appreciate and welcome South Korean investors to cooperate with Binh Duong in those fields", emphasized Mr. Vo Van Minh – Chairman of the PPC.
On this occasion, on behalf of the leaders of Binh Duong, the Chairman of the PPC wished the South Korean business community development and prosperity. Binh Duong provincial authorities at all levels are always committed to creating favorable conditions for the business community in general and the South Korean business community in particular to conduct production, business, and trade activities effectively.
