Binh Duong provincial leaders visit the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia

​PORTAL - On the morning of November 23, the Binh Duong provincial delegation led by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao - Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee visited and paid a courtesy visit to the Vietnamese Embassy in Ulan Bato, Mongolia.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Doan Thanh Tam - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam in Mongolia and officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia.

Speaking to welcome the delegation of Binh Duong province, Ambassador Doan Thanh Tam highly appreciated the socio-economic development and industrial development of Binh Duong province. Introducing diplomatic and trade relations between Viet Nam and Mongolia, he emphasized that economic and trade cooperation between Vietnam and Mongolia over the years has made much progress. Bilateral trade exchange in 1994-1995 only reached 5-6 million USD but has grown rapidly in recent years. According to the latest figures, two-way trade turnover has reached 85 million USD by 2022 and there is still much space for both sides to promote. In the first 10 months of 2023, 95.7 million USD was achieved.

Overview of the visit and working session of the Binh Duong Provincial Delegation with the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia

During the State visit of Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh and his wife to Viet Nam at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong (from November 01 to 05, 2023), the two sides discussed directions for bilateral trade development to reach 200 million USD in 2024. At the same time, discussing measures to promote bilateral cooperation in the fields of politics, defense, security, economics, education, science and technology, transportation, logistics, culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual concern, aiming to establish a new and increasingly comprehensive framework of relations on the occasion of the 70th founding anniversary of Viet Nam - Mongolia diplomatic relations in 2024. In particular, Viet Nam tourism in 2022 attracted 13,000 tourists, the first 8 months of 2023 alone attracted 8,464 Mongolian tourists. Mongolia wished to call for cooperation in mining investment, construction, and transportation infrastructure investment.

Binh Duong provincial delegation presents a gift to the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao shared an overview of the socio-economic development situation, investment attraction, and external information of Binh Duong province. Binh Duong currently ranks 2nd in the country in attracting foreign investment capital, after Ho Chi Minh City. The entire province currently has nearly 4,200 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of more than 40 billion USD.

In addition, the Permanent Deputy Secretary affirmed that in its foreign policy orientation, Binh Duong always values and wishes to expand friendly and cooperative relations with localities of countries around the world. The Permanent Deputy Secretary hoped that in the coming time, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mongolia will continue to support Binh Duong in promoting cooperation with the capital Ulan Bato, and Mongolian partners in economics, trade, tourism, human resource development, etc.
