PORTAL - On the morning of September 08, at the Administration Center of Binh Duong province, Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies received the Delegation of Yamaguchi prefecture (Japan) led by Mr. Muraoka Tsugumasa - Governor of Yamaguchi prefecture who visited Binh Duong on the occasion of "Meet Japan 2023" to celebrate the 50th establishing anniversary of Viet Nam - Japan diplomatic relations.
Also attending the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Minh Vu - Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Nguyen Van Danh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC) and leaders of provincial departments, committees and branches.
At the reception, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation of the Governor of Yamaguchi prefecture to visit on the occasion of Binh Duong province organizing many activities in the "Meet Japan 2023" program.
In 2014, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture (Japan) signed an Agreement on strengthening the friendly cooperative relationship between the two localities. Since then, the cooperative relationship between the two localities has continuously developed, helping each other in many fields. In addition, Binh Duong is also an attractive destination for Japanese investors. Currently, Japan is ranked 2nd among 65 countries and territories with investment projects in Binh Duong with 351 projects, total capital of nearly 6 billion USD.

The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee thanked the Governor for his special affection for Binh Duong province as well as for making an important contribution in connecting Japanese investors to invest in Binh Duong.
The Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee hoped that the Governor and Yamaguchi prefecture will continue to accompany and support Binh Duong province in achieving green, smart and sustainable development in the future. The two localities will strengthen development cooperation in areas of strength, especially the fields of health, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges. The Provincial Party Secretary believed that the close relationship between Binh Duong and Yamaguchi will become a model in the cooperative, twinned and diplomatic relationship between Viet Nam and Japan, contributing to promoting stronger and deeper development of relations between the two countries.

Thanking Binh Duong province for the thoughtful welcome, the Governor of Yamaguchi prefecture expressed his surprise at the transformation and outstanding development of Binh Duong, especially the infrastructure system. Mr. Muraoka Tsugumasa said that over the past time, enterprises in Yamaguchi prefecture have felt the dynamism of Binh Duong province in socio-economic development and wanted to learn about investment opportunities in the province.
After 50 years of Japan and Viet Nam establishing diplomatic relations, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries has continuously developed comprehensively in many fields such as politics, economics, culture, and sports. Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture are also sister localities and in recent years, the two sides have strengthened their friendship through exchanging high-level delegations as well as organizing investment promotion seminars to attract investment to Binh Duong province.
In addition, up to now, Eastern International University (EIU) has signed many Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and International Agreements with Yamaguchi University and famous universities in the province to promote cooperation, academic exchange, research and education activities in areas for mutual interest.
The Governor said he will continue to inform enterprises of Yamaguchi province about the potential of Binh Duong province, and at the same time make more efforts to create a bridge between Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture, creating favorable conditions for the two provinces to cooperate and exchange people.

At the same time, promoting economic diplomacy activities, attracting foreign direct investment capital as well as widely promoting the image of Binh Duong province and contributing to strengthening the relationship between Binh Duong province and localities, Japanese partner, thereby contributing to promoting the extensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Japan.

After many years, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture have become twinned and increased exchanges and cooperation have brought about many practical activities and results. On this occasion, the two provincial governments will sign a memorandum of cooperation in the field of nursing, contributing to tightening the relationship between the two localities, creating a stepping stone for socio-economic development, education and training high quality human resources.

Governor of Yamaguchi prefecture Muraoka Tsugumasa said he felt honored to come to Binh Duong to attend the event commemorating the 50th establishing anniversary of Viet Nam - Japan diplomatic relations. He said that Binh Duong province is making great progress and hoped that both localities will increase exchanges, learn from each other's experiences and in the coming time there will be more practical cooperation programs.
