Briefly introducing the socio-economic situation and attracting investment of Binh Duong province in recent years, Ms. Ha Thanh - Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs said, Binh Duong province has always been evaluated as one of the leading provinces and cities in the country in terms of socio-economic development and the speed of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI). Particularly in the first 5 months of 2023, the province has attracted 921 million USD, including 32 new projects, 13 adjusted capital increase projects and 63 capital contribution projects to purchase shares.

Accumulated to June 15, 2023, the province has 4,112 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of nearly 40 billion USD. Binh Duong is currently ranked 2nd in the country in attracting FDI, after Ho Chi Minh City. The province's import and export turnover in 2022 reached 61.5 billion USD, with a trade surplus of nearly 10 billion USD.
Besides promoting socio-economic development, Binh Duong also actively expands bilateral and multilateral cooperation in many fields. Up to now, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperation relationships with 11 foreign provinces and cities, including Guangzhou city, Guangdong province, China. Binh Duong is currently an official member and reliable partner of 03 international organizations, in which, Binh Duong province has been honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) as one of 21 cities with the world's typical smart city development strategies for 5 consecutive years 2019-2023 and one of 07 communities with the world's typical smart development strategy for 3 consecutive years 2021, 2022 and 2023 (TOP7 ICF).

Viet Nam has been continuously the largest trading partner in ASEAN since 2016 and China's sixth largest trading partner in the world since 2020. Especially in investment, China is currently the 6th largest investor out of 143 countries and territories investing in Viet Nam, with more than 3,720 projects and a total investment capital of 24.8 billion USD. Particularly in Binh Duong province, China is currently ranked 8th among 65 countries and territories with more than 460 projects and total investment capital of nearly 1.6 billion USD.
