At the meeting, in the spirit of solidarity, cooperation and mutual support for mutual development, the leaders of the two localities informed about the socio-economic development situation; reviewed and evaluated cooperation results in the 2016-2021 period and signed a cooperation agreement in the 2022-2026 period between Binh Duong province and Champasak province.

Accordingly, in the 2022-2026 period, the two provinces will focus on implementing 10 cooperation contents in many fields. Specifically, the two sides will exchange high-ranking delegations to visit, work, exchange and learn from each other's experiences; Champasak province continues to support survey and planning of rubber plantation area to propose the Government to allocate land to Dau Viet - Laos Rubber Joint Stock Company to successfully implement an investment project to plant 10,000 hectares of rubber trees in Champasak province, ensuring the supply of raw materials for the latex processing factory in Ba Chieng district. The two sides jointly create favorable conditions for Thu Dau Mot University and Champasak University to conduct research activities, cooperation, academic exchange, training program transfer; and at the same time give scholarships to students studying at the two schools. Binh Duong supports health checks and short-term convalescence for senior retired officials of Champasak province. In particular, implementing agreements and cooperation between Pakxe city (Laos) and Thu Dau Mot city (Binh Duong), etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi believed that the direction of cooperation in the 2022-2026 period between Binh Duong province and Champasak province will contribute to deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. The Secretary suggested that the two localities would seriously discuss for practical and effective cooperation in the fields of economy, culture, education and in their own conditions, mutually support each other.

Mr. Vilayvong Bouddakham thanked for the warm and thoughtful welcome from Binh Duong province.
