At the meeting, Mr. Hashimoto - Chairman of Sharp Corporation briefly presented the Corporation's potential, business strategy as well as new investment orientation in the future. According to Mr. Hashimoto, Sharp Corporation is exploring investment opportunities in the Southern provinces of Vietnam, including Binh Duong to move the supply chain away from the Chinese market, promoting market diversification and spread risks.
He assessed that Binh Duong is a locality with an attractive investment environment, in line with Sharp's criteria, so the Corporation has had 02 production factories located in Vietnam - Singapore I Industrial Park (VSIP) and expanded VSIP II. In particular, in the coming time, Sharp will continue to expand investment and build one more large-scale factory, oriented to develop high-tech and advanced products such as manufacturing and processing electronic products, high-tech components, smart phones, manufacturing household electronics, household electrical products, health products, etc.
With that development orientation, Sharp Corporation hopes that Binh Duong province will support to meet the needs of construction land fund, provide labor, workers as well as complete connected transport infrastructure. At the same time, it is expected that the province will consider enjoying tax incentives (the Corporation will apply for a high-tech product certificate) and investment and construction costs.
Mr. Hashimoto thanked Binh Duong provincial leaders for their attention and facilitation for the Corporation's production activities during the past time. He hoped that he would continue to receive support from the province for Sharp Corporation to expand its business scale with high efficiency, making positive contributions to the province's socio-economic development.
Overview of the meeting
Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee Mai Hung Dung applauded Sharp Corporation for choosing Binh Duong as a place to expand its investment scale. Sharp is a long-standing and prestigious brand in the market, therefore, Binh Duong provincial leaders are very pleased to welcome the Corporation.
Discussing the proposals of Sharp Corporation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC said that up to now, Binh Duong has established 29 industrial parks (IPs), with a total planning area of 12,662.81 hectares. In which, there are 02 IPs that are implementing infrastructure construction to attract investment, namely VSIP III and Cay Truong IP with a total land area of 1,700 ha. In addition, other IPs are carrying out expansion procedures such as Rach Bap IP, Nam Tan Uyen IP, etc. So far, Binh Duong industrial parks and clusters have prepared about 3,000 hectares of land to be ready for investment attraction.
At the same time, Binh Duong constantly improves the investment environment, enhances competitiveness and strengthens support for the development of investment enterprises in the province by completing the socio-economic infrastructure system such as: Traffic, water supply, electricity, environmental treatment, simplifying administrative procedures; deploying human resource training, building social housing, housing for workers, providing adequate and timely labor resources for enterprises to invest in the province.
Regarding tax incentives, in case the Corporation's project is certified as a hi-tech application project on the list of high-tech prioritized for investment and development as prescribed by the Law on High Technology or enterprise certified as hi-tech enterprise by competent authorities, the enterprise will enjoy tax incentives. During the application process for high-tech certification, the Binh Duong provincial government will consider and support when necessary.
Mr. Mai Hung Dung affirmed that Binh Duong province is constantly innovating to create an open investment environment, creating the most favorable conditions for investors operating in IPs, contributing to building the image of friendly, dynamic Binh Duong, an attractive and reliable destination for investors.
