The meeting approved the 5-year socio-economic development plan for the 2021-2025 period, associated with the target of both drastic disease prevention and control with the spirit of " fighting the pandemic is like fighting an enemy", and determined to maintain, recover and develop socio-economic activities. Strive for stability and higher economic growth in the 2016-2020 period; accelerate the renewal of the economic growth model in association with the implementation of strategic breakthroughs; ensure social security and welfare, constantly improve the people's material and spiritual life. Build Binh Duong province stably and sustainably develop in the direction of smart, civilized and modern city, creating foundation towards the goal that by 2030, Binh Duong becomes modern industrial center, by 2045 will be smart city of the region and the whole country.

Specific economic indicators: The province's Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increases on average 8.5 - 8.7% per year. The province's economic structure by 2025: industry - service - agriculture - tax on products minus any subsidies will reach 62.3% - 28% - 2.5% - 7.2% respectively. Index of industrial production (IIP) increased by an average of 8.7%/year; GRDP per capita is 210-215 million VND. Total retail sales of consumer goods and services will reach 14 - 15% per year. Export turnover is estimated to increase by 9 - 10% per year. Import turnover is estimated to increase by 9 - 10% per year. Attracting foreign investment reaches over 9 billion US dollars. Create jobs for 35,000 employees every year; the rate of poor households falling under the poverty reduction target according to the multidimensional poverty line by the end of 2025 is less than 2.5%; 85% of trained workers.
Also at the meeting, the delegates focused on discussing and commenting on the draft contents: Regulations on contributing the land use rights and adjustment of land use rights to implement investment projects in the province, the program of synchronous development of the urban system associated with the construction of Binh Duong Smart City; Implementation plan of the project on prevention and control of river bank erosion until 2030 in Binh Duong province; Plan to train cadres, civil servants and public employees abroad in the 2021-2025 period.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao emphasized, in order to continue effectively implementing the tasks set out in the coming time, it is required that departments, committees and branches, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities focus on improving management capacity, changing working style, highlighting the leading role of leaders, building dynamic contingent of civil servants and public employees; select urgent and practical issues that have great impact on local socio-economic development to prioritize implementation. All levels and branches must adhere to their viewpoints, targets and development orientations in order to concretize them into programs and projects for implementation; promptly remove difficulties, focus on solving problems arising in the process of socio-economic development in the locality, striving to fulfill the set goals.
