The meeting approved the steering and management report of the provincial People's Committee and the socio-economic situation, national defense and security in May 2020. Accordingly, in May, the situation of Covid-19 pandemic was well controlled; the socio-economic situation gradually recovered and had positive changes. The key industries maintained stable growth momentum with the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) estimated to increase 5.63% over the previous month and up 4.05% over the same period in 2019; total retail sales of goods and services reached VND 20,688 billion, up 17.2% over the previous month and up 10.4% over the same period; Export turnover is estimated at USD 2 billion 198 million, up 32.9% over the previous month and up 0.4% over the same period. Import turnover is estimated at USD 1 billion 740 million, up 10.8% over the previous month and down 4% over the same period. Maintain a trade surplus of USD 1.8 billion. In the first 5 months of 2020, budget revenue reached VND 26,800 billion, equaling 98% over the same period, accounting for 43% of the estimate of the provincial People's Council; Local budget balancing expenditure is about VND 1,100 billion.
Regarding social security, the province has timely and fully implemented regimes and policies for people with meritorious services, social protection, poor households, near-poor households, lottery ticket sellers etc. affected by Covid-19 pandemic; at the same time directing to review, update and synthesize the situation of labor, employment affected by the pandemic to timely support under the direction of the Central.
In June 2020, the province focused on plans to remove difficulties, promote business production, continue to support the subjects facing difficulties due to the impact of pandemic, well implementing the contents and works related to the Party Congress at all levels etc.
The meeting focused on important issues such as: the results of the Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) in 2019, the results of the PAR Index (PAR INDEX) and the Satisfaction Index of Public Administration Services (SIPAS) in 2019, set out directions and tasks in the future.

In conclusion, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Chairman of the People's Committee requested the coming time, levels, branches and localities need to strengthen the direction and administration to complete the tasks for the first 6 months. Specifically, focus on budget revenue and expenditure tasks, accelerate the disbursement of public investment in 2020; research to mobilize and effectively use resources for development investment in the context of budget constraints; especially resources from enterprises in improving transport infrastructure; well implementing social security policies; ensure security order and social safety. The Chairman of the provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to concentrate on proposing solutions as well as drafting a plan to continue improving the business environment, improve PCI, PAR INDEX, PAPI in 2020 and subsequent years.
