According to BIWASE, Tan Hiep Water Plant, under to Water Supply Branch of the Complex - Binh Duong Water Environment Joint Stock Company with an existing design capacity of 120,000 m³ per day, providing clean water for Binh Duong Complex - Industry - Service - Urban Area, My Phuoc Industrial Zones 1, 2, 3, 4; An Tay Industrial Park, Bau Bang Industrial Park ... However, the demand of water use is increasing because of provincial urbanization. Therefore, it is urgent and necessary to increase the capacity of Tan Hiep Water Plant Project with an additional capacity of 100,000m3 per day.
Mr. Satoshi Ishii said that ADB and JICA expected to provide funding for BIWASE to implement the project of expanding Tan Hiep Water Plant capacity of 100,000 m3 per day; supplying to 74,000 households and industrial areas. The total investment capital of the project is estimated US$ 46 million; in which, ADB and JICA support 16 million USD. This is also the first project in Viet Nam supported by ADB without the guarantee from the Government. Therefore, ADB will consider assessing the financial status of BIWASE and support the project implementation as soon as possible.

Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Truc expressed his thanks to ADB for its support in water supply and drainage projects in Binh Duong and affirmed that the Tan Hiep Water Plant expansion project is essential for socio-economic development and meeting the urgent needs of local citizens. BIWASE is a competent company, he believes that the project will be implemented smoothly in the near future with the support of ADB.
