At the reception, the new ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore affirmed the fine cooperation between Vietnam and Singapore by saying that the model of Vietnam – Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP) has successfully contributed to developing the bilateral ties in economy, trade and investment. Huong said that she was impressed with the success of this model and that many localities expect to acquire useful experiences to follow. She revealed that in 2018, both countries will organize economic cooperation activities and cultural-art exchange programs to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore. As the new Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore, she pledged to promote cooperation activities between the two countries, and to support Binh Duong in organizing a conference on investment promotion in Singapore.
The Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, in his turn, briefly informed Huong of the local socio-economic development. In 2017, the province ranked second nationwide in terms of FDI attraction. The province's export value accounted for 12% of the country's export value. Those remarkable achievements are partially attributed to great contributions made by province-based VSIPs. However, Binh Duong is now facing with challenges in transportation, social welfare policies, added Dung.
Also on this occasion, Dung wished the new Ambassador of Vietnam to Singapore success in her new position and expressed his expectation that she will further act as a bridge boosting the fine friendship between the two countries and call for Singaporean businesses to make investment in the province.
