At the ceremony, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment announced the Decision of the Provincial People's Committee to issue the Binh Duong Provincial Green Book 2024 and the list of 35 businesses presenting in the Green Book. Among them, 18 enterprises with excellent achievements received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee in environmental protection work.

The Binh Duong Provincial Green Book is published every 2 years to honor and reward production, business and service establishments with outstanding achievements in environmental protection. Thereby, it raises businesses' awareness of environmental protection, spreading and mobilizing production and business establishments in the area to improve production techniques and comply well with regulations on environmental protection.

To be listed in the Green Book, businesses must fully meet the following conditions: Having a Decision approving the results of the appraisal of the environmental impact assessment report or equivalent documents according to the provisions of the Law on Protection Environment in 2020; Implementing waste treatment projects and measures and it is inspected and certified by competent authorities; Not being handled for administrative violations in the field of environmental protection, water resources or not being reported by the community where the factory is located as causing environmental pollution.

Enterprises are evaluated and classified according to 03 criteria: Compliance with environmental regulations and standards and industrial hygiene; Compliance with environmental management procedures, records, and related issues; Encouragement criteria (ISO 14001, 45001 or GMP or OHSAS 18001, environmental awards, participation and environmental protection activities serving the community, initiatives to save energy, recycling and using waste, etc.).

According to Mr. Nguyen The Tung Lam – Vice Head of the Environmental Protection Department, Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Binh Duong Provincial Green Book 2024 will be scored and evaluated based on Plan No. 1078/KH-UBND dated March 11, 2024, of the Provincial People's Committee. In addition, it will be further evaluated the good compliance with other legal regulations on taxes, Social Insurance, Trade Unions, etc.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Hung Dung acknowledged and praised the outstanding achievements that businesses have achieved. He hopes that the Binh Duong business community will continue to promote good traditions, strive harder, overcome difficulties and challenges, proactively seize opportunities, develop sustainably, and contribute to the socio-economic development of the province. The province commits to always accompanying businesses, creating the most favorable conditions for businesses to develop.

For the Binh Duong Provincial Green Book to continue to become a place to recognize and honor the contributions of businesses in the province's development, Mr. Mai Hung Dung requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment, departments, branches, the Provincial Viet Nam Fatherland Front Committee, associations, and unions continue to promote propaganda work, thereby it will help businesses understand and well comply with the provisions of law, especially the law on protection environment. Besides, it helps strengthen State management in assigned fields, and it is necessary to pay attention to promptly detecting and nominate new businesses performing well in environmental protection for consideration for honor and reward.

He hopes that businesses that won the Binh Duong Provincial Green Book 2024 will continue to promote themselves to become pioneering factors in environmental protection in the province, thereby it will mobilize more and more individuals and organizations to participate in the environmental protection work of the province.
