At the same time, it was proposed to establish Ben Cat City in Binh Duong Province based on the original natural area and population size of Ben Cat Town.
Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra - Minister of Home Affairs affirmed the need to establish 2 wards of An Dien and An Tay in Ben Cat Town. An Dien and An Tay communes are located adjacent to the wards of Ben Cat Town and border Ho Chi Minh City. The communes are affected by the high urbanization process of the central urban area and have a convenient transportation system connecting central urban areas with Thu Dau Mot City and Tay Ninh province. In addition, they have favorable terrain and natural conditions that attract investments for the socio-economic development of Ben Cat Town. In recent years, An Dien and An Tay communes have had rapid economic growth. Their economic structure has shifted towards industry, construction, trade and services, and the budget revenue is higher than the previous year. Besides, their per capita income is higher than the national average. Up to now, An Dien and An Tay communes have met the standards of urban infrastructure systems to establish wards according to regulations.
