​PORTAL - On the morning of February 03, at the Administration Center of Binh Duong Province, representatives of the Four Chinese States in Thu Dau Mot City came to extend wishes to Binh Duong provincial leaders on the occasion of the Lantern Festival – Lunar January Full Moon Festival 2023.

Receiving the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Van Loi - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of the National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thao – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vo Van Minh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee (PPC); Mr. Nguyen Van Loc - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Head of Commission for Mass Mobilization of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Ms. Truong Thi Bich Hanh - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Head of Propaganda and Training Commission of Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong - Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council and Vice Chairmen of the PPC and representatives of departments, committees and branches.

The Chinese community in Thu Dau Mot city currently has nearly 4,500 households, 16,400 people, including four states: Guangdong, Chaozhou, Fujian, and Chongzheng. Over the past time, the Chinese community has well complied with the guidelines and lines of the Party and the policies and laws of the State; actively responded to local movements; well implemented the preservation and promotion of the national cultural identity, successfully organized the lunar January Full Moon Festival in the New City in the new normal conditions after the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, with the tradition of mutual affection and mutual love, Chinese associations, unions and masses have actively contributed in the field of social security, poverty reduction program, and local welfare work. Particularly in 2022, the total amount spent on social and charity work in the province is more than 4.7 billion VND.

The lunar January Full Moon Festival is a unique cultural activity in the spiritual and religious life of the Chinese community in particular and the people of Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong province in general. This year, the activities of Lady Thien Hau Temple Festival will take place as traditional practice. Accordingly, the procession of Lady palanquin will be carried out at facility 2 on lunar January 09 (January 30, 2023) and will continue to take place on the lunar January Full Moon at facility 1 of Lady Thien Hau Temple in Phu Cuong ward, Thu Dau Mot City. The activities of the lunar January Full Moon Festival at Lady Thien Hau Temple and other temples and pagodas in Thu Dau Mot City strictly comply with regulations on pandemic prevention and control, security and order and fire and explosion prevention.
