According to the report of VSIP Joint Venture Co., Ltd., the investor and construction unit are focusing all resources to leveling the ground and handing over to LEGO Group according to the committed schedule. Specifically, by August 31, 2022, VSIP will hand over the first phase of about 24 hectares, and by September 30, 2022, will hand over the remaining 20 hectares to LEGO Group to build a factory worth 1 billion USD.

Mr. Preben Enef – General Director of Lego Vietnam Technology Co., Ltd. expressed his delight at the busyness of the leveling construction site and highly appreciated the support of leaders of Binh Duong province, branches, levels and localities during the past time for LEGO to implement the project, the works signed between VSIP and LEGO, which are being implemented on schedule and meeting the set requirements. He believed that the project will be successfully implemented in Binh Duong and put into operation in mid-2024 as planned.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi thanked LEGO Group for choosing Binh Duong to build the factory. The Secretary committed, Binh Duong province will hand over the site on schedule for LEGO Group to implement the project. The Secretary also suggested that departments, branches, localities and VSIP focus on coordinating to speed up the handover of the site as committed.
Overview of the construction site leveling the project
On December 8, 2021, in the
presence of Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Binh Minh, LEGO Group signed a
Memorandum of Understanding with VSIP Joint Venture Company Limited to build a
new factory in Binh Duong province with a total investment of more than 1
billion USD, expected to be deployed in the second half of 2022 and come into
operation in 2024, contributing to creating jobs for 4,000 workers.
This will be LEGO's 6th
factory in the world and 2nd in Asia, with the expectation that it
will help LEGO expand LEGO's global supply chain network, thereby flexibly and
quickly responding to the changing needs of users in each region.
