Building a culture of innovation
Good road-traffic infrastructure is an existing strength of Binh Duong province. Continuing to improve the waterway, land, and railway transport system to ensure continuity and connection of the region is a must and need to do well in the coming time. However, only technical infrastructure is not enough, Binh Duong's strategy of attracting investment and sustainable development also defines long-term tasks.
After 04 years of implementation, the Smart City Project in Binh Duong has achieved remarkable results. Typically recognized by the international community, for three consecutive years 2019, 2020, and 2021, Binh Duong has been honored in 21 localities with typical smart city development strategies in the world. In order to continue and further expand the Project, Binh Duong continues to implement the Project of "Binh Duong Innovation Region" with the expectation of creating leverage to build the foundation of an innovation ecosystem and, more broadly, a sustainable innovation culture. This is considered a "springboard" to help Binh Duong build an attractive environment for startups, technology companies, continue to participate in major economic organizations in the world. From there, it will upgrade the current production, create new production tools and develop evenly in all aspects of social life, gradually increase the proportion of the digital economy.
The project of " Binh Duong Innovation Region" is a completely new model which is suitable to the reality of Binh Duong, with application and conclusion from the achievements of innovative regions such as Daejeon - Daedeok Innopolis (Korea), Brainport Eindhoven (Netherlands). This is also the key content in the construction of Binh Duong Smart City for the next phase, which is a breakthrough integrated project including functional areas such as central management office; science city; Science and Technology Industrial Park (STIP); World Trade Center in Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC).

Talking to investors about the Binh Duong Innovation Region, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Mr. Tran Van Nam said that the developed Binh Duong Innovation Region will create an ecosystem that promotes the culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, attracting investment projects that bring high added value, gradually turning Binh Duong province into a smart city, in which, the key projects that are considered as the bright spots of the region are the World Trade Center Binh Duong New City (WTC BDNC) and STIP.
WTC BDNC will be a "door" for the business community not only in Binh Duong but also across the country to connect with the world. Through practical activities, the center will support and accompany businesses to develop trade and services, promote trade, thereby contribute to economic restructuring to bring more added value.
The STIP is planned in Bau Bang district to attract multinational corporations, promote research and scientific transfer, and play pioneering role in the introduction of new, less labor-intensive means of production while serving industries producing high-value-added products; and focusing on scientific research and development, building good living environment for experts, increasing labor productivity, gradually increasing the proportion of the digital economy in the economic structure of the province.
Digital transformation in industrial zones
To be able to take advantage of the results of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in the economic development of the province as well as develop the digital economy in the spirit of Resolution 52 of the Politburo, Binh Duong is developing a strategy to transform comprehensive digital transformation across the province, in both the public and private sectors, and businesses. Digital transformation will help Binh Duong optimize operations in both the public and private sectors, optimize existing business models, increase labor productivity, and reduce labor intensity. Business models in the digital space will be gradually formed in the province. With the achievements of developing industrial zones and attracting investment over the years, Binh Duong has a great advantage to develop digital technology and industry 4.0.
Companies need to switch to smart production development to catch up with the Industrial Revolution 4.0
Mr. Nguyen Van Hung - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Becamex IDC said that in the coming time, Becamex IDC would support investors in industrial zones to gradually upgrade their production model to 4.0, especially support smart solutions about 4.0 for businesses operating in industrial zones invested by Becamex. Advise on developing the provincial digital transformation strategy, in which, focusing on accelerating the development of e-government, and digital transformation in industry, developing smart production, smart factories, etc. application of core technologies in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 such as artificial intelligence, big data, Blockchain, etc. Thereby building model of new industrial parks in the digital era, as well as contributing to upgrading existing traditional industrial parks.
To achieve the above goal, according to Mr. Hung, first of all, businesses in industrial zones must connect with each other to form a supply chain in digital transformation. This is the goal Binh Duong aims to improve the quality of goods and create labor productivity of companies in the province. "I think that the achievements Binh Duong has achieved during the past time together with the right decisions of the province will be the driving force for Binh Duong's socio-economic development to rise up, step by step create foundation for the province to enter new period, towards knowledge-based economy, digital economy, and welcome new opportunities of the 4th Industrial Revolution; at the same time, build Binh Duong into a smart city, contribute to improving people's living quality," Mr. Hung emphasized.
Evaluating Binh Duong's strategic vision in transport infrastructure development, Mr. Yeh Ming Yuh - General Director of Polytex Far Eastern (Vietnam) Co., Ltd. commented: "Binh Duong has pretty good planning vision when infrastructure is continuously built and improved; always have the orientation to connect the region to facilitate the circulation of export and import goods of companies. I highly appreciate Binh Duong province's efforts and determination in improving the investment and business environment, and developing transport infrastructure in a synchronous and widespread manner. Realizing the development orientation of Binh Duong in the future, we decided to expand the production scale of the factory to double in Bau Bang Industrial Park.
