On the afternoon of November 18, the Delegation visited and worked with Mr. Ralph Burghart - Deputy Mayor of Chemnitz and representatives of the local government of Chemnitz City (Germany), to expand cooperation opportunities and exchange experiences between the two localities.
Chemnitz has over 200 years of industrial history, their strengh is in the technological sector, focusing on the automotive industry, information technology, mechanical engineering and factory automation. Since 1995, more than 7,000 companies and manufacturing plants have sprung up in Chemnitz and the surrounding area.
Key sectors such as nursing, hospitality, automotive manufacturing and production, and mechanical engineering are closely connected with many companies producing materials and paint technology, metal processing, automation technology, and microsystem technology.
At the end of the meeting, Binh Duong Province and Chemnitz City both affirmed their desire to continue exchanging and cooperating in many fields, especially in areas that are their local strengths. Chemnitz is the headquarters of the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems (Fraunhofer ENAS). It is hoped that there will be close cooperation between Fraunhofer ENAS and Becamex IDC Corporation in the coming time.

On the afternoon of November 19, the delegation visited and worked with the Saxon State Parliament. At the meeting, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Van Loi briefly presented the economic development in Binh Duong province. Binh Duong is known as one of the largest "industrial capitals" of Viet Nam, with more than 4,400 FDI enterprises from 65 countries and territories and about 70,000 domestic enterprises. The province is transforming into a new stage of development.
The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized that it is known that Germany has a lot of experience in green transformation, clean energy, circular economy, eco-cities, livable cities, etc. Therefore, through the working session, Binh Duong hoped to strengthen cooperative relations with German partners in these fields.

Also during the working trip, the Delegation visited and worked with the Fraunhofer ENAS. Professor Harald Kuhn - Director of the Fraunhofer ENAS hosted a welcome meeting.
Fraunhofer ENAS specializes in intelligent systems and integration across various applications. It provides comprehensive support from concept development to prototype, focusing on high-precision sensors, integrated nanostructures, devices beyond the scalability limits of CMOS technology, and advanced integration technologies. Fraunhofer ENAS also provides solutions for small and medium-sized startups and large companies operating in the fields of technology development, system simulation, AI-based data analysis, and system security.

There are 3 business areas in the smart system value chain: Process, equipment, and packaging technology; smart systems; and reliability testing solutions.
In August 2024, Becamex IDC Corporation, a key state-owned enterprise of Binh Duong province, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Fraunhofer ENAS on establishing a Microelectronics and Intelligent Systems Research Center (R&D Center) in Binh Duong, based on Fraunhofer ENAS's model.
With this trip, the delegation hopes that the Fraunhofer ENAS will share about the products of enterprises in the high-tech field as well as trends in automation and semiconductor manufacturing as well as specific cooperation activities with Binh Duong in the coming time; including the implementation of the Microelectronics Center project between Fraunhofer ENAS and Becamex IDC.

Also, the delegation visited and worked with the association of Saxony Silicon - one of the largest high-tech networks in the Free State of Saxony (Germany). Project Director Stefan Uhlig introduced the delegation to the Saxony region and representatives of major technology brands headquartered in the state, the operating structure of the Saxony Silicon in the process of developing science and technology, especially the semiconductor industry, semiconductor chip manufacturing, software, intelligent systems, etc.

This trip of the Binh Duong Provincial Delegation aimed to study science and technology, high technology, semiconductor technology, semiconductor chips, etc., contributing to the development of Binh Duong province in the new development stage after the Prime Minister officially approved the province's Master Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.
