At the conference, delegates listened to experts presenting the master plan for Binh Duong Innovation Region and development directions in the coming time.
Expected to be deployed in the period of 2020-2030, the project "Binh Duong Innovation Region" is a new model which is completely suitable for the reality of Binh Duong, applying and summarizing from achievements of innovation regions such as Deajeon - Daedeok Innopolis (Korea), Brainport Eindhoven (Netherlands). This is also a central content in the construction of Binh Duong Smart City for the next phase, an integrated breakthrough project including functional areas such as the central management office; urban science; Science and technology industrial park (S&T).
Binh Duong Innovation Region Master Plan
Binh Duong New City, where management centers, high-end trade and service centers, FabLab and TechLab experimental centers, places of practical experiments, creative spaces, business incubators, start-up and modern living space localized, have been identified as a center for Binh Duong innovation region. Bau Bang S&T development area is positioned as a satellite cluster for S&T development of the central region with the Science and Technology Industrial Park being the core; in addition, it is surrounded by existing industrial zones such as Bau Bang, expanded Bau Bang, Cay Truong and Lai Hung. The main functions and activities in the S&T Industrial Park include: Education and training; scientific and technical research and development; technology commercialization activities of enterprises; Industrial production; business support services; infrastructure management and management functions.
The conference deeply discussed and analyzed solutions to implement the Binh Duong Innovation Region Project, the next steps in the construction of the Science and Technology Industrial Park etc. According to experts, to realize the Innovation Region, Binh Duong should continue to have a synchronous, comprehensive, multi-layered master planning strategy, urban planning associated with development planning of public transport, cultural development, and health care, education, science and technology etc.
Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – Mr. Tran Van Nam delivers conclusion in the conference
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Secretary of the Party Committee – Mr. Tran Van Nam highly appreciated Becamex IDC's proposal on the Binh Duong Innovation Region Project and the contributions of experts and scientists. Agreeing on the implementation of the Project, the Secretary noted Becamex to absorb the comments of departments, boards and branches to supplement and complete the Project. Pay special attention to industries, do well urban planning and transport, build a culture of innovation, balance economic structure, digital transformation and 4.0 industries, develop and attract human sources. The Secretary assigned the Provincial People's Committee to direct departments and branches to coordinate to build a comprehensive planning strategy on all sides, contributing to making Binh Duong become a bright spot for innovation in Vietnam.
