Ecological Industrial Park (EIP) is an industrial park managed to promote cooperation between businesses and the community for common interests related to economic, social, and environmental efficiency. Developing eco-industrial zones (IZs) aims to develop sustainably, minimize carbon, effectively use resources, and enhance competitiveness and attractive investment.

The feasibility study project of eco-industrial parks follows up the success of the pre-feasibility period and continues to receive the companionship of the World Bank, aiming to implement the international standard EIP model in key industrial zones in Bau Bang area, including Bau Bang Industrial Park, Expanded Bau Bang Industrial Park and Truong Trau Industrial Park. This model helps businesses develop in an industrial symbiotic direction, optimize resources, reduce environmental impacts, and increase economic value.

Overview of the seminar

In the framework of the research, experts will deploy 04 main components to build the development roadmap of the eco-industrial park in Binh Duong: Assessing the current situation of industrial parks and proposing appropriate conversion solutions for international standards. Researching wastewater treatment systems and reusing water to optimize water resources in production. Developing a sustainable energy supply model, including solar energy applications and energy storage. Building industrial symbiotic systems, connecting enterprises in industrial parks to take advantage of the common resources and optimize the supply chain.

Delegates present at the seminar

Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Bui Minh Thanh - Vice Chairman of the Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee stated that the implementation of the feasibility study for the eco-industrial park following the EIP 2.0 international framework is completely aligned with Binh Duong's strategic objectives in the provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision towards 2050.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Binh Duong has planned and directed the industrial zones to be invested and developed more sustainably, more efficiently, and with higher competitiveness. The application of the principles of eco-industrial parks helps reduce carbon emissions, optimize the use of resources, and create an environmentally friendly industrial ecosystem. Moreover, EIPs help improve investors' competitiveness by supporting them to meet strict global environmental standards, thereby expanding opportunities to access the international market. This model is not only the orientation for new industrial zones but also an important conversion path for existing industrial zones.

Mr. Bui Minh Thanh – Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee delivers a speech at the seminar

Mr. Bui Minh Thanh expressed his belief that with technical support from the World Bank and related organizations and units, the project will pave the way for Binh Duong to become a pioneer of Viet Nam in the development of Ecological Industrial Park according to international standards.

Becamex IDC leader affirmed that Becamex IDC always strongly responded to the policy of green conversion and ecological industry development, and at the same time cooperated with international partners like the World Bank to promote sustainable industry solutions in Viet Nam. This feasibility study is considered an important step in realizing the eco-industrial park model in Binh Duong, demonstrating the role of Becamex in providing infrastructure, services, and solutions to support investors according to the sustainable development direction. The implementation of the feasibility study not only helps Becamex and Binh Duong strengthen their pioneering position in the green industry but also creates opportunities for businesses to access advanced technology, optimize production, and raise competitive capacity in the global market.
