Surveying the actual construction of the Binh Nham canal tidal control sluice, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee listened to the construction unit's report on the project implementation. Accordingly, Binh Nham sluice with an investment of 284 billion VND, together with the An Son - Lai Thieu sluice and dyke system with a length of about 12.7 km (along the Saigon River) is responsible for preventing floods, high tides and releasing floods of Dau Tieng reservoir to prevent flooding for the entire 2,690ha area, in which the basin in charge of Binh Nham sluice is 540.98ha of natural land. The work receives and drains water from the drainage basin of the Chom Sao - Suoi Don Drainage shaft project with an area of 1,596ha; actively supplying water for the production and living area of about 280ha of Binh Nham ward. The project includes the main culvert, auxiliary culvert under the road, the construction management area, the traffic bridge and the road to the bridge. Up to now, the construction work has been completed about 80% of the volume value, including the main items: Main culverts, embankments protecting canals, river banks, bridge spans, etc. The remaining 02 items have not been constructed due to the site clearance.

The construction unit has proposed the province to consider, allocate capital and approve the investment policy, implement the remaining 04 tidal control sluices in Thuan An city with a total cost of 1,364 billion VND, in which there are tide control sluice of Ba Lua - Vam Bung canal, and tide control sluice of Lai Thieu - Vinh Binh canal.
