According to the report, in 2020, despite being impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, the industrial production activities of Binh Duong province have recovered quickly and achieved good growth in the last months of the year, the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased 8.02% (the plan for 2020 increased 9.6%).
Total retail sales of consumer goods and services is estimated at 252,889 billion VND, up 12.3% (the plan for 2020 increased 19.9%). Prices for most groups of goods basically stable, the average consumer price index for the whole year is estimated to increase 3.21%.
Trade surplus is estimated at nearly 6 billion USD. The manufacturing and exporting enterprises of the province have recovered well after the Covid-19 pandemic. Export turnover is estimated at 27 billion 443 million USD, up 8.5% over the same period in 2019. Import turnover is estimated at 21 billion 456 million USD, up 7.5% over the same period in 2019. The staples of the province still maintain good growth rates such as textile, garment and footwear; wood processing; electronic products and components.
In 2021, the Industry and Trade branch strives to fulfill the following basic targets: The index of industrial production (IIP) increases by 9.2% over the same period; total retail sales of consumer goods and services increase by 16% over the same period; export turnover increases by 12% over the same period; import turnover increases by 13% over the same period.
