At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Hop - Chairman of the Board of Directors cum General Director of Southern Power Corporation gave a brief information on the implementation of the production and business targets and construction investment for the 2016-2019 period and the first 10 months of 2020 and the plan orientation for the 2021-2025 period in Binh Duong province. According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hop, the current electricity demand in Binh Duong province is increasing rapidly, in some key areas such as My Phuoc Industrial Park 1, 2, 3; Song Than industrial park; Tan Uyen town, Phu Giao district, etc. are in danger of overload. Therefore, the organization of electricity demand review and assessment in key areas is necessary to have specific plans for investment in power projects and works in the province to meet the electricity demand for daily life of the people and for the production and business of enterprises in the province. In 2020, the commercial electricity output in the province is estimated at 14,186 billion kWh, and forecasting by 2025, the demand for commercial electricity in the province is 20.876 billion kWh.
Overview of the reception and meeting
In the 2021-2025 period, the Corporation will continue to invest in Binh Duong province in 220kV, 110kV and distribution grid projects to ensure safe and continuous electricity supply for regional economic development. Expected investment capital demand is about VND 5,237 billion; in which mainly investment in the 110kV power grid with a total capital of VND 3,389 billion for 52 projects in the province. With the aim of ensuring adequate, timely, safe, stable and quality power supply to meet the province's socio-economic development and to meet the technical requirements of the grid, customer service, and application of science and technology.
The Corporation desires Binh Duong province to continue supporting and facilitating the site clearance and land fund so that it can soon deploy the construction of power projects in the province, especially key projects: 110kV Khanh Van station and connecting line; 110kV Uyen Hung-Phu Giao transmission line; 110kV Ascendas station and 110kV An Tay transmission line. At the same time, considering for the Electricity branch to access preferential loans from the Provincial Development Investment Fund to serve power projects and works in the 2021-2025 period, contributing to ensuring the power supply in the area.

Recognizing the opinion of the Southern Power Corporation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thanh Truc highly appreciated the achievements of the Corporation as well as the Binh Duong Power Company in recent years, ensuring the supply of electricity sources for socio-economic development in the locality; at the same time said that the province will continue to support the Power branch in land acquisition, creating a land fund to serve power projects and works. In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade was assigned to coordinate with Binh Duong Power Company to review key areas and electricity demand to effectively implement projects, ensuring electricity supply to serve production and business activities and daily life for the people.
