Welcoming the ICF leadership team to visit and work in Binh Duong, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Loi emphasized that since joining ICF, Binh Duong has been greatly inspired in the direction of building a Smart City, especially the goal of building a Smart City to serve people's lives, serve the community, and provide maximum support to disadvantaged groups. Regarding the environment, the province strives to ensure a green, sustainable, clean and beautiful environment, Binh Duong is a place worth living. Many projects on environmental treatment of dust, wastewater and garbage have been implemented by the province. In education, building smart and happy schools, so that "every day going to school is a happy day". In the field of health, the province develops smart health care, bringing health policies to workers and disadvantaged people. In neighborhoods and hamlets in the province, community digital technology groups have also been established to grasp difficulties and problems and guide people in carrying out online administrative procedures, etc. In planning, the province prioritizes land funds for education, health care, and community service space; strives to achieve the goal of 10 square meters of greenery per person.

Mr. John Jung - ICF Co-founder highly appreciated the remarkable changes and development of Binh Duong during the past time. He said that the initial results in the implementation of the Smart City Project have created a highlight and foundation for the province to continue to develop breakthroughs in the next phase. In particular, building a Smart City and participating in international organizations such as ICF has contributed to widely promoting the image of Binh Duong province in the international arena, positively contributing to the province's investment attraction results. During his 3 working days in Binh Duong, he will spend time visiting, conducting field surveys, and meeting people to better understand the changes and impacts of building a Smart City on the development of the province.

At the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung brieved information about Binh Duong province and introduced the Binh Duong Smart City Project. Accordingly, up to now the scale of the province's economy has increased 104 times compared to 1997. Labor has shifted from agriculture to the industrial, commercial and service sectors. To date, the province has attracted over 4,000 foreign investment projects with a total capital of more than 40 billion USD, ranking second of Viet Nam, after Ho Chi Minh City. The per capita income is the highest in the country, about 400 USD/person/month. In the process of economic development, the province strives to ensure environmental protection and improve people's quality of life.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC said that Binh Duong has implemented the construction of the Smart City Project since 2016 as a breakthrough program aimed at services, high-tech production, and a dynamic, livable urban area. During the implementation process, the province applied the Triple Helix model (Government - Enterprise – Institutions/Universities) and achieved impressive initial results. Binh Duong has been recognized by ICF 5 consecutive years (2019-2023) to Smart21 and 3 consecutive years (2021-2023) to Smart7. An important goal when deploying the construction of a Smart City is that the province wishes to learn from experience in managing and building smart cities and smart communities for more sustainable development.
Development orientation of Binh Duong Smart City to 2030, Binh Duong continues to closely apply the Triple Helix model; at the same time, focuses on digital transformation, smart city, deploys Binh Duong innovation ecosystem and focuses on human resource development, invests in education, takes care of the disadvantaged, "leaving no one behind".
