At the meeting, the delegates exchanged and discussed the contents of implementing the Smart City Project in the next stage after the Smart City – Binh Duong Innovative Region was honored as TOP 1 ICF in 2023 by the World Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) after 3 successive years named TOP 7 ICF.

Mr. Mai Hung Dung – Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC said that TOP 1 ICF is an opportunity and driving force for Binh Duong to build development orientation in the new stage in harmony with international criteria and smart urban development goals of the province. The aim is to create a balance between economic development with social progress and green growth. Besides, taking people and businesses as the center towards the common prosperity of the province and Southeast region of Viet Nam.
In the current cirscumstance, with the impact of the 4th Industrial Resolution, Binh Duong actively participates in and builds breakthrough strategies to attract a new-generation industrial ecosystem associated with attracting high-quality human resources, retaining and appreciating talents in the fields of high technology, semiconductor industry, digital transformation, etc.
The province also strengthened propaganda about the meaning and opportunity when Binh Duong achieved the TOP 1 ICF to promote and introduce the local potential and strengths contributing to raising the Binh Duong brand in the international area. Especially, it creates consensus and pride among people about the meaning of the TOP 1 ICF title that Binh Duong has strived to build in recent times.

The experts from the Netherlands – Mr. Peter Portheine and Mr. Joost Helms evaluated the foreign direct investment situation (FDI) of the province, advantages, and disadvantages both domestically and internationally affecting FDI attraction. The experts said that Binh Duong needs to make good use of the trend of attracting new-generation investment and converting to investment fields with high value. Besides, it needs to create favorable conditions for procedures, investment licenses, etc. The province also needs to prepare land funds, science and technology zones, etc., to welcome high-tech manufacturers, especially chip semiconductor technology invested in Binh Duong.
Besides, once the province's new Master Plan is approved, it will open new space and create new competitive advantages. Therefore, it is necessary to organize the provincial planning announcement event combined with promotion and investment attraction. It needs to continue to organize and attend international conferences for Binh Duong to meet and connect with big businesses around the world, then let international investors see that Binh Duong is an attractive destination.

Concluding the meeting, Mr. Mai Hung Dung – Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC emphasized that the throughout and core goal of the Binh Duong Smart City project is to promote people's lives and innovation to attract investment in the province. Therefore, in the next stage, it must focus on these key missions and assign Becamex IDC, departments and branches to develop specific activities for implementation. Initially, it is necessary to prepare carefully for the provincial attandance of the ICF Conference in November in Spain, the ICF online seminar, the provincial planning announcement event, etc.
