Stable economic growth
At the meeting, Ms. Vo Thi Bach Yen - Standing Deputy Secretary of Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee reported to the delegation on the implementation of socio-economic development, defense and security tasks in the first 2 months. 2024 of Thu Dau Mot city.
Accordingly, the economic growth situation was stable. The total State budget income from socio-economic development in 02 months was estimated to reach more than 1,295 billion VNĐ. It reached 31% compared to the provincial estimate target and Resolution of the People's Council of the city.
The city will continue to implement the general planning project of Thu Dau Mot City until 2045. The project was submitted and approved for local adjustment files of the General Planning of Thu Dau Mot City and local adjustment files of the Phu Cuong Ward by the PPC at the project location of Mr. Nguyen Sinh Sac's Memorial Area.
Overview of the meeting
Currently, the city is carrying out compensation, site clearance for 16 projects/67 hectares of land, and land recovery in 2,869 cases. So far, 52 hectares of land have been handed over, reaching 78%. Compensation payment reached 88%. In particular, the city has prioritized focusing on coordinating compensation and site clearance for key provincial projects passing through the area (Ring Road 3 Project and the project of upgrading and expanding National Highway 13).
The work of ensuring social welfare during the Lunar New Year 2024 for people who contributed to the revolution, policy families, subjects of social protection, people in difficult circumstances, workers, and visiting people to wish them a long life, etc. was implemented effectively and practically. The total cost of implementing works and preparing for the Lunar New Year festival in 2024 was 30 billion VND for 24,611 subjects.
Until now, the city has had 100% of businesses return to normal operations after Tet (211 businesses with 19,114 workers).
Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee directed to implement solutions to carry out the tasks of administrative reform and digital transformation right from the beginning of the year with a spirit of urgency and determination. The Party Committee properly implemented regulations on the order of handling administrative procedures according to the one-stop and interoperable one-stop mechanism. Thu Dau Mot Party Committee strengthened guidance to support people. In addition, businesses accessed and used online public services to ensure the implementation roadmap set out in 2024. It needed to exploit and effectively use data from the Thu Dau Mot Intelligent Operation Center (IOC). The Party Committee was focusing on directing, digitizing data, and synchronizing data to promote its functions. The installation of AI software needed to be implemented to analyze and process images and detect traffic violations. The result of the detection was the sending of penalty notices to 236 cases.
The national defense and security situation in the area has been maintained, and 100% of the military assignment targets have been completed in 2024. Regularly suppress all types of crime, transform the area, and bring order and safety to traffic and urban areas; protect the safety of key targets, projects, and important political events, especially holidays and Tet.
Clear the resources of construction and embellish the urban area.
According to the report, Thu Dau Mot City is currently mobilizing resources to continue investing in construction and urban development in the direction of green, smart urban growth and responding to climate change. The city is improving the quality of grade I urban criteria, developing infrastructure, and embellishing existing urban areas in association with new urban development. In particular, the city is focusing on aggressively implementing the management of the use and conversion of functions of public headquarters in the area. The city has the orientation of creating resources from public land, and those resources will be invested in the development of the city.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dong - Secretary of the Thu Dau Mot City Party Committee said that by the end of 2023, the city would complete the list of public lands. At the same time, there were adjustments to the number of uses of public lands according to the direction of the PPC. In that list, the city proposed 11 auction areas with a total area of 16.29 hectares. The city issued a thematic Resolution on urban development for the period of 2017-2022. So far, the key tasks have been basically completed, and the city is developing a draft Resolution for the period of 2024-2030.
At the meeting, Departments and branches also discussed and contributed ideas to guide Thu Dau Mot in urban planning and embellishment.
According to Mr. Vo Hoang Ngan - Director of the Department of Construction, the general planning of Thu Dau Mot was currently implementing bidding and selecting consultants to prepare planning projects. It was recommended that Thu Dau Mot tried to timely submit to authorities and the Prime Minister for approval.
Regarding the thematic Resolution on the urban development of Thu Dau Mot in the period of 2017-2022, until now, important goals have been achieved. The province's interest and expectations for the city are very high, so Thu Dau Mot needs to have direction and clear resources to implement urban development and embellishment to be worthy of being a central urban area of the province.
Regarding the urban drainage system, the city has paid great attention to investment in construction, however, flooding still exists, and it is affecting people's lives. In this regard, Thu Dau Mot City was petitioned, so the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the Department of Construction to re-survey the list and determine priorities for investment in tidal gates at gateways. Then, they selected locations and focused on building prior ones.

Regarding the upcoming planning orientation of urban development areas and TODs, the PPC assigned the Department of Construction to advise on 3 areas while Thu Dau Mot was requested to proactively carry out procedures, plan adjustments and adjust zone planning for the remaining 10 areas. The procedure takes a long time, so it needs to be focused on doing it early.
TODs are traffic hubs combined with urban spread. In the Thu Dau Mot area, there are many TODs along Ring Road 3, the main urban areas, and My Phuoc-Tan Van Road. The Department of Construction has coordinated with research units to have specific proposals. For the remaining urban areas, the city is requested to continue to research and propose.

Many targets are higher than the province's average and they are the bright spot of the province in many fields. The city always excellently completes assigned tasks.
In 2024, it is predicted that there will still be many difficulties and challenges, so the city must always be ready and constantly make more effort. In addition, the city also has to rise to assert itself, and not be satisfied with the results achieved. Everything needs to be complete well to be worthy of being the political, economic, and cultural center of the province.
