GRDP increases by 7.23%
Mr. Mai Hung Dung said, right from the Covid-19 pandemic wave, Binh Duong has focused on analyzing, evaluating and forecasting the impact of the pandemic on each sector and each field and from there, had scenarios and plans to help enterprises stabilize production, restore export markets, ensure the achievement of and exceed the target of the 2021 plan, as a premise to complete the plan for the 2021- 2025 period.
With the synchronous, drastic and timely participation of branches, levels, the enterprise community, and the unanimous response of the people, the province's socio-economy has achieved many important results.
Most of the economic development targets achieved higher growth compared to the same period in 2020. Gross regional domestic product (GRDP) increased by 7.23% over the same period (the same period increased by 6.73%); Industrial production index increased by 8.23% (the same period increased by 6.4%). Total retail sales of goods and services increased by 10.4% over the same period; The average consumer price index increased by 2.48%; export turnover increased by 47.2%, import turnover increased by 43.4%.
Total investment in social development was estimated at 55,138 billion VND, up 10.7% over the same period. The results of attracting domestic investment capital and foreign investment capital both highly increased over the same period.
Along with the above results, the province also successfully organized the election of deputies to the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021 – 2026 tenure; the provincial competitiveness, governance and management indexes (PCI, PAX INDEX, ICT) were improved, Binh Duong Smart Region was honored as TOP 7 by ICF.
Social security is guaranteed
The taking care and implementing regimes and policies for people with meritorious services, social protection beneficiaries and the poor on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2021 were carefully implemented by the province. Facing the complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic, the province quickly implemented support measures for the affected subjects, poor households, near-poor households, workers, lottery ticket sellers, etc., to help them somewhat stabilize their lives. At the same time, guiding enterprises and employers to deal with and support employees who lose their jobs and have to stop working; in which, more than 80% of the total number of employees were entitled to unemployment benefits and social insurance regimes according to regulations (increased over the same period in 2020). The occupational safety and health at enterprises and production and business establishments were strengthened, especially the timely assessment of the risk of Covid-19 transmission in areas with a large concentration of workers and employees.

The quality of education and training in the province continued to achieve many good results, ensuring the program according to the planned time frame of the 2020-2021 school year. During the time when students were temporarily suspended from going to school and implementing distancing due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization of teaching and learning in a combination of face-to-face and online forms suitable for each grade level at educational institutions was deployed more synchronously and efficiently than before; preparing well and seriously for the 10th grade entrance exam in association with the implementation of pandemic prevention and control; focusing on the distribution of students after secondary school. In particular, the organization of the 2021 High School Graduation Exam took place safely, seriously, with quality and results leading in the country in terms of graduation exam scores.
The province has actively developed scenarios to focus all resources to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic; mobilized the entire society to join the fight against the pandemic.
The organization and implementation of taking samples for Covid-19 testing were carried out day and night for subjects in a basically safe manner. Along with that is the implementation of vaccination for subjects according to regulations; the implementation of technology applications on mobile devices to help people comply with health declaration, control entry and exit with QR codes to maximize the efficiency of tracing, localizing the pandemic, and effectively supporting the pandemic prevention and control. Regularly propagandizing to raise awareness and responsibility for pandemic prevention and control, and advising people not to be subjective or negligent in order to control and significantly limit the infection level of the pandemic in the community.
Developing a plan to restart the economy and society
The complicated situation of the Covid-19 pandemic has affected all aspects of socio-economic life. The implementation of social distancing measures directly has affected the employment and income of employees. Besides, the price of many essential goods has increased, making people's life difficult. It is forecasted that in order to achieve the socio-economic development targets according to the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council, there will be many difficulties and challenges, requiring great efforts of all branches and levels in the remaining 6 months of 2021.
The Provincial People's Committee will focus on implementing solutions to prevent and control the Covid-19 pandemic under the direction of the Prime Minister, ensuring the people's lives and health first, directing the timely implementation of support solutions for people and enterprises affected by Covid-19, creating conditions for enterprises to restore production and business and develop the economy.

Quickly implementing support packages according to Resolution no. 68/NQ-CP dated July 01, 2021 of the Government and Decision no. 23/2021/QD-TTg dated July 07, 2021 of the Prime Minister. At the same time, effectively implementing the Resolutions of the Provincial People's Council, Decision of the Provincial People's Committee on the support regime for the Covid-19 prevention and control; support for employees to rent boarding houses, food and foodstuff support for people, etc.
Especially speeding up the progress of Covid-19 vaccination for subjects according to the regulations of the Government and the actual situation of the province, ensuring safety and effectiveness, soon repelling the pandemic and bringing the province back to the new normal.
Strengthening the state management, inspecting goods, strictly handling business establishments that take advantage of the pandemic situation and the scarcity of goods to hoard goods, raise prices unreasonably and sell goods at higher than listed prices; at the same time having solutions to stabilize market prices, especially essential commodities serving people's daily life.
Along with that, removing difficulties in basic construction, ensuring the completion of the 2021 plan according to the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council.
