PORTAL - On the morning of October 31, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Education and Training organizes the National Online Conference of Education Sector in 2020.
There were Mr. Vu Duc Dam - Deputy Prime Minister; leaders of ministries, departments, universities and colleges attending the conference. The conference was organized online to 63 broadcast stations of districts, towns and cities.
At Binh Duong broadcast station, there were Mr. Tran Van Nam - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Loc Ha - Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; representatives of the Provincial Department of Education and Training (Education and Training), the Department of Education and Training of the districts, towns, cities and universities and colleges in the province attending the conference.
According to the report, under the complicated and unpredictable development of the Covid-19 pandemic, following the direction of the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 pandemic prevention and fighting, the Ministry of Education and Training actively coordinate with the Ministry of Health in promptly issuing many documents, guiding localities to perform the tasks of school year 2019-2020 and pandemic prevention and control with the motto "the health and safety of students and teacher is the first "and "not going to school does not mean stop learning". The Ministry of Education and Training has adjusted the timetable for the school year; guide localities, educational institutions to teach via Internet and television ... According to statistics, over 4 months of implementing distance learning, nearly 50% of universities organize online teaching; the percentage of high school students who can learn via the Internet is 79.7%.

In addition, the education sector has well implemented the dual goal of organizing the High School Graduation Exam 2020 to both ensure the safety of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control and ensure the seriousness, objectiveness and fairness in exam. The success of the high school graduation exam in 2020 affirms the achievements of innovation in exam organization as well as the efforts of Education sector during the past time.
Enrollment to pedagogic universities and colleges in 2020 has many innovations and quality improvement. In 2020, the whole country has 528,038 enrollment quotas, increase by 7.84% compared to 2019.
In particular, the renovation of general education curriculum and textbooks is built methodically; following a strict process from the overall program to the subject programs and educational activities at all classes and levels. The new program is built in the direction of the quality and capacity development approach to students that have overcome the limitations of the current content access program. The Ministry of Education and Training has evaluated and approved 05 sets of grade 1 textbooks for localities and educational institutions to select and put into teaching.
The construction of facilities and teaching equipment has been paid attention to. Up to now, the country has about 440,118 classrooms at primary, secondary and high schools, increase by 20,215 rooms compared to 2016. Universalizing early childhood education has been paid attention to. The whole country has completed the universalization of early childhood education for 5-year old children.
The quality of mass general education continued to improve. The spearhead general education continues to maintain a proud performance in the international arena.
At the conference, leaders of ministries, branches and localities discussed solutions to improve the quality of education and training. In which, in the period of 2021-2025, it is proposed to increase the number of personnel in field of education and training in localities; facilities with international standards; socialization policy for private schools; simplify procedures for building private schools in localities; adjust the management focal points after high school in order to promote the continuity of the system; share public investment resources for private entities; promote the application of information technology in teaching.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam highly appreciated the achievements of the education and training sector in the context of the heavy impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, especially the reform of teaching and learning methods in the online form, higher education are in self-control. The Deputy Prime Minister also pointed out limitations and shortcomings in textbook reform, social resources in attracting and investing in the non-public education system are still low.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted that in the period 2021-2025, the education and training sector needs to promote digital transformation and the application of information technology in education and training; focus on completing development policies, methods of online training, and educational management in the network. Strengthen quality verification for educational institutions and training programs; focus on improving the quality of human resources associated with restructuring labor. Diversify training methods based on the model of open education, the national qualification framework associated with the labor market and meet the requirements of the Industrial Revolution 4.0.
