There were Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Ho Quang Diep - Member of Provincial Standing Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, former Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; leaders of departments, boards, branches of the province attending the congress.
During the past term, under direction of the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee together with the leadership of Union's Executive Committee and its members, the Union organized activities in accordance with the direction and tasks set out, making an important contribution to the province's socio-economic development.
The Union is growing stronger and stronger with 18 member associations and over 20,000 members. The Union has done a good job of gathering intellectuals, experts inside and outside the province to participate in scientific conferences and consulting and criticism activities, which contributes to improving the quality and feasibility of programs, schemes and plans before competent authorities approve. In addition, the Union actively propagates and disseminates scientific and technological knowledge to all classes of people; being an important force promoting the movement of creation and application of science and technology to production, life, people's health care, environmental protection; maintaining the organization of creation contests for teenagers and children and the provincial contest of technical creation in order to promptly detect and foster talents.
In the term 2020-2025, the Union will continue to develop its membership; promoting social consultation and criticism activities, striving for each member and affiliated units to register 1-2 scientific research projects and topics in the year. Each year, the Union organizes social criticism of 05 provincial topics and projects, organizes 10 scientific seminars and disseminates to transfer 10 solutions for technical innovation, application of technical progress and advanced technical process for production and life.
The Congress elected the 4th Executive Committee of the Union, term 2020-2025 including 35 members. In the first meeting, the Executive Committee of the Union elected a Standing Committee consisting of 07 members and an Inspection Committee consisting of 03 members. Mr. Lai Xuan Thanh - Director of Department of Information and Communications was elected as the President of Binh Duong Union of Science and Technology Associations, term 2020-2025.

Delivering a speech at the Congress, Mr. Mai Hung Dung - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed the direction and tasks set out in the term 2020-2025 of the Union. At the same time, it is suggested that the Union should follow up the province's orientation, especially in science and technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and building smart cities; plays a key role in gathering, uniting and promoting the creative capacity of the contingent of intellectuals in order to propose and advise the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee on important issues in the province's lines, undertakings and policies for development. Along with that, to speed up the application and replication of scientific and technical advances in production and life; to pay attention to fostering professional knowledge and ethics for members, especially young intellectuals.
On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations awarded the medal "For the cause of science and technology" to 11 individuals, awarded certificates of merit to 03 collectives and 03 individuals. The Provincial People's Committee awarded certificates of merit to 01 collective and 06 individuals with many achievements in Union's activities.
