Opening ceremony of Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament – the 9th Biwase Cup

BEGIC - ​Morning of March 8th, at the Provincial Convention and Exhibition Center, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Binh Duong Radio and Television Station, Binh Duong Water - Environment Joint Stock Company (Biwase) held the opening ceremony of Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament - the 9th Biwase Cup 2019.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Le Huu Phuoc - Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Head of Provincial Propaganda and Training Commission; Mr. Dang Minh Hung - Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; leader of Vietnam Bicycle - Motorbike Federation and departments, agencies in Binh Duong province.

Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament – the 9th Biwase Cup 2019 brings together 90 athletes of 09 women's bicycle teams in strong domestic bicycle clubs and 07 teams from countries: Japan, Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia. This year, the tournament has a long and diverse route with 09 races, total length of 850 km going through 07 provinces and cities in the South East, Central Highlands, conquering the dangerous passes: Bao Loc Pass, Prenn Pass, Cu Hin Pass, Vinh Hy Pass etc. The tournament takes place from March 8 to March 16, 2019. The prize includes 05 most prestigious final shirts from yellow shirt, blue shirt, red shirt for climbing queen, pink shirt for Miss, and white shirt for promising young athletes with the best performance.

Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament - Biwase Cup is a traditional race in the national competition system for women, is a good opportunity for Vietnamese female bicycle athletes to be rubbed with strong opponents from countries. Thereby, improving qualifications and professional experience to prepare national bicycle racing events in 2019 and international tournaments

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of provincial People's Committee Dang Minh Hung evaluated, through 08 times of organization, Binh Duong International Women's Cycling Tournament - Biwase Cup was successful and left a deep impression, creating a playground and a premise for athletes from provinces and cities in the whole country generally and Binh Duong particularly to achieve high achievements in the national and regional arenas. Following the success achieved, this award is an important event to start a new season of Vietnam's cycling in 2019; this is also a meaningful gift for female bicycle athletes to celebrate the International Women's Day - March 8th. The Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee wished the athletes to have a good performance and a successful Tournament.

After the opening ceremony, athletes entered 1st competition route around Binh Duong New City with a distance of 66km.
