Assessing socio-economic situation of the province in the first 6 months, members of the provincial People's Committee basically agreed with the statement: Most of major socio-economic indicators have achieved higher growth rates compared to same period of 2016, in line with orientations and targets for 2017 plan; Security, order and safety in province continue to be stable and maintain. However, the performance of public investment is still low. Estimated value of executed volume to June 30th 2017 is 2.090 billion dong, reaching 29,2%. Total value disbursed to May 31st 2017 reached over 982 billion dong, reaching 13,7% of the plan. The implementation of investment in some industrial parks and industrial clusters is planned to be slow.
The meeting also spent a lot of time to adopt direction and management solution in the last 6 months of 2017, in which: Concentrate on directing and drastically implementing business environment improvement, thus contributing to raising national competitiveness; mobilize capital sources, expand forms of socialization in investment development of socio-economic infrastructure of province and implement Binh Duong smart city project; organize activities to celebrate anniversaries and important events from now until the end of 2017 and beginning of 2018...

In the same afternoon, the Meeting approved the Statement and the draft Resolution on Natural Resources and Environment submitted to the 4th Session- Provincial People's Council Congress IX, including: Defining tasks of spending on environmental protection in the province; environmental protection fees for mining in the province; list of projects subject to land acquisition and projects using rice land is adjusted and added in 2017.

Conclusion of the first day of meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem basically agreed with the draft report assessing socio-economic development of province in the first 6 months of 2017. The Chairman requested departments, agencies and localities, based on functions and tasks, drastically direct the implementation of groups of tasks and solutions from now to the end of the year, strive to achieve and exceed targets of socio-economic development in 2017. The Chairman basically agreed with contents of the Statement and the draft Resolution to the 4th Session - Provincial People's Council, at the same time, requested the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to make corrections and improvements on the basis of comments made at the Meeting.
Tomorrow morning (14th June), the Meeting will continue through contents submitted to the 4th Session - Provincial People's Council Congress IX.
SOME IMPORTANT SOCIO-ECONOMIC INDICATORS OBTAINED IN THE FIRST 6 MONTHS OF 2017 - Industrial production index is estimated to increase 8,53% over the same period in 2016. - Total retail sales of goods and services is estimated over 80.000 billion dong, up 20,2% over the same period. - Export turnover is estimated at over 13 billion US dollars, up 16,7% over the same period in 2016. - Import turnover is estimated at 9.8 billion US dollars, up 15,8%. - The value of agricultural production reached 5.575 billion dong, up 3,8%. - The whole province has added 10 new rural communes. - Domestic investment attracted 18.494 billion dong, up 41,6% over the same period. - Foreign direct investment attraction reached 1,618 billion US dollars, reaching 115,6% of the 2017 plan. - Up to now, the whole province has 27.823 domestic businesses and 2.931 foreign invested businesses. - Mobilize about 821 billion dong to take care of social welfare activities; - Construct and repair 48 houses of gratitude and 54 houses of great unity. - Job creation for 25.692 employees. - Budget revenue: 23 trillion VND, up 15% over the same period in 2016, reaching 50% of budget approved by the provincial People's Council. - Expenditures budgeted for 4.500 billion dong, equaling 93% over the same period, reaching 29% over the estimate; of which, recurrent expenditures rose, spending on development decreased, particularly, capital construction expenditures were 1.500 billion dong, gaining 25% of the estimate. |
