Mr. Nguyen Thanh Truc - Director of Department
of Planning and Investment – informed about investment attraction in the
province, in Binh Duong, South Korea is the No. 3 investors with 569
projects and a total registered capital of $2.25 billion. In the first 6
months of 2016, many Korean corporations, investors came and explore
the province's investment environment and invested in 27 new projects,
added more capital to 13 projects with a total capital of VND155.2
million. Some major projects are: Lumens Vina Company produces and
processes all kinds of LED blue lights used in TV, computer, monitor,
power applications with an investment of $30 million in My Phuoc IP;
production plant for automotive airbags of Kolon Company with an
investment of $14.1 million; SGX Company produces and exports shoes with
an investment of $12 million in Song Than 2 IP; Sung Min Vina Company
produces footwear with a total investment of $10 million in Tan Uyen
Town… This is a good signal, which implies that Binh Duong favorable and
dynamic investment environment continues to be an attractive
destination to Korean businesses.

Korean businesses gave opinions at the meeting

Representatives of Department of Transport replied questions of businesses at the meeting
At the meeting, many Korean enterprises raised
issues of labor policies, power and water supply in IPs, the
construction of transport infrastructure, regional port system; labor
exchange, supply between universities and businesses in the province;
the construction of international schools for children of foreign
experts; policies promoting auxiliary industries ... These issues were
answered satisfactorily right at the meeting by provincial departments
and agencies.

Mr. Park Noh Wan - Korean Consul-General in Ho Chi Minh City, spoke at the meeting
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Park Noh Wan - South Korean
Consulate-General in HCMC - appreciated the attention and support of
Binh Duong Province to Korean enterprises operating in the province. He
said, Korean Consulate would coordinate to help Korean enterprises
operating efficiently, and urged Korean businesses to continue investing
in Binh Duong.
Mr. Tran Thanh Liem - Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of PPC - concluded the meeting
Concluding the meeting, Mr. Tran Thanh Liem -
Deputy Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of PPC -
appreciated large contributions of Korean businesses to provincial
socio-economic development. He stressed, in the future, Binh Duong
province would focus on improving the investment climate; mobilization
of resources for bettering socio-economic infrastructure, such as
transportation, water supply, electricity, environmental treatment;
planning for IP expansion, creating clean land source for business
activities. Besides, continuing to enhance administrative procedure
reform; ensure political security, social order and safety in order for
Korean businesses in particular and foreign investors in general to
operate efficiently in Binh Duong.
