Accordingly, 220 scholarships worth approximately VND600million were given for needy pupils in the province. Among them, 143 worth VND2million each were for secondary school pupils and 77 worth VND4million each for high school pupils. The scholarship program is also oriented as an annual activity to give strength to poor-but-excellent pupils in the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr.Hung affirmed that over the past time, province-based Kocham and Korean businesses joined hands with the local government to well realize social welfare. He also wanted that the 220 recipients will strive further in learning to be worthy of the attention of the society and the Korean business community will further help needy cases rise up in life.

It is known that among 48 countries and territories investing in the province, Korea has ranked third with 569 projects capitalized at US$2.25million. Over the past 7 years, province-based Kocham spent more than VND2billion on such social charity activities as presenting 1,440 Tet gifts worth VND844million, 5 gratitude and charity houses worth VND360million…Especially, 345 “Kocham-Making dreams come true” scholarships worth more than VND988million were awarded to pupils with difficult circumstances over the past 2 years.
