Over the past 5 years, Binh Duong’s tourism sector continued reaching stable growth with the annual average increase of 17% in revenue and 0.5% in number of tourists. Provincial People’s Committee is actively implementing projects on ecotourism and traditional craft village tourism development along with Dong Nai, Saigon rivers to bring into full play and preserve the local historical and cultural features.
In the period of 2016 and 2020, tourism sector will strive to account for around 27.2% of the local economic structure. Calling for investment in tourism
The implementation of provincial People’s Committee’s Decision No.2303/QD-UBND on provincial tourism development plan till 2020 and vision towards 2030 has created a motivation for the local strong development. Accordingly, the province’s total investment capital for tourism development till 2020 is estimated at around VND11.7trillion; total investment capital for prioritized projects till 2020 is VND8.3trillion; total land fund for these projects is 1,400 hectares. It is estimated that State budget will account for around 15-20% of total and the remaining from investors at home and abroad.
The sector will give priority to calling for investment in areas, including Lai Thieu garden villa in Thuan An town, the section along Saigon river through Ben Cat town, Rua isle, the section along Dong Nai river, Bach Dang isle in Tan Uyen town, Dau Tieng reservoir…
The province’s tourism development strategy with vision towards 2030 will focus on developing tourism into an important economic sector of Binh Duong municipality, contributing to shifting the local economic structure and promoting other relevant sectors.
The Decision No.2303 also specified that the province’s tourism sector will see the annual growth of 6% in number of tourists and 10% in revenue in the period of 2021 and 2030. Binh Duong will also continue fostering the local tourism sector in a spacial combination between South, Northwest and East to tap strong points of each area. Upon this, the province will promote specific tourism products, building up a Binh Duong tourism trademark.
In the coming time, Binh Duong will further issue open policies to welcome foreign and domestic investors so that they join hands with the local administration to successfully build up a sustainable Binh Duong tourism trademark.
