Construction and development of Bau Bang urban-industrial park commenced

​BEGIC - ​Early April 27, provincial Party Committee and People’s
Committee held a ceremony to commence the building and development of
the Bau Bang urban-industrial park.

Attending the ceremony were Bui Pham Khanh, Depute Minister of Construction; Tran Dinh Thien, Head of the Vietnam Institute of Economics; Tran Van Nam, Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Mai The Trung, Head of provincial NA delegation; Tran Thanh Liem, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee, Chairman of provincial People’s Committee; Nguyen Huu Tu, Vice-Secretary of provincial Party Committee; Huynh Van Nhi, Chairman of provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of sectors, departments, mass organizations in the province; representatives of consulates, diplomatic corps, foreign investment associations; leaders of localities, including Tay Ninh, Binh Phuoc, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Nghe An together with foreign and domestic investors.

Under the plan approved, the Bau Bang urban-industrial park covers 2,200 hectares, including 1,000 hectares for industrial projects, 1,200 hectares for developing resettlement areas and services. So far, 95% of the 1,000 hectares of land for industrial projects has been filled by 95 domestic and foreign investors with a total registered capital of US$1.2 billion.

With a modern and synchronous infrastructure system plus advantages in terms of geographical position, the Bau Bang urban-industrial park will serve as an important gateway for the local trade exchange, contributing to creating a driving force for the economic development of the southeastern and central Highlands regions.

To meet investors’ needs, the Investment and Industrial Development Corporation (Becamex IDC) has continued expanding the Bau Bang urban-industrial park by 1,000 hectares under the adjustment of the province’s Ips development planning till 2020 approved by the Prime Minister on Jan.28, 2016, raising the total area of the park to over 3,200 hectares. The expansion of the park to 3,200ha is expected to increase the population of Bau Bang district to 200,000, meeting the local increasing demand for human resources and urban services.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr.Liem spoke highly of the efforts by Becamex IDC in building infrastructure of industrial parks in the province. He also suggested Becamex IDC to further uphold its capacity and experience to be able to perfect infrastructure of the Bau Bang urban-industrial park at enterprise’ needs while absorbing investment projects, especially hi-tech ones, contributing to bringing benefits to the locality and improving the lives of people in the region.

He also believed that with Becamex IDC’s experience, the Bau Bang urban-industrial park will develop more successfully, creating the inter-regional connectivity between Ips in Binh Duong and Dong Nai, HCM city, Binh Phuoc as well as other localities in the southern region. It will also bring major changes to the northern region of the province, generating more jobs for laborers and raising the lives of people in the region.

Binh Duong province’s Party, government and people have always considered the success of enterprises as the success of the locality. The province will always create the best conditions for enterprises to work effectively.

On this occasion, Becamex IDC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TPP Investment Co.Ltd. on the establishment of a Vietnam-US industrial zone with an area of 200 hectares at the Bau Bang urban-industrial park. Becamex IDC and DDK Vietnam Investment-Development Co.Ltd. also signed a MoU to develop a specialized zone on bikes and their components on an area of 80 hectares at the park. In addition, provincial People's Committee granted investment certificates to enterprises investing in the park.
