At the working session, Mr. Chen Bor Show, Head of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City stated that after the incident on May 13 & 14, 2014, affected local Taiwanese enterprises had resumed their production. He also appreciated Vietnamese Government and Binh Duong province damage repairation work recently. The efforts had been gaining trusts in foreign investors.
Mr. Chen also hoped that Binh Duong province would produce specific solutions such as giving assurance for companies’ assets, enhancing absolutely security for workers and Taiwanese enterprises.
The delegation provided current status of Taiwanese companies in Binh Duong province. After the incident there were 19 heavily affected companies that had difficulties resuming their operation. The delegation also submitted companies' petitions to the provincial People's Committee and to the Central Government leaders.
Taiwanese businesses got back to normal activities
Provincial departments and agencies’ leaders answered queries on export-import tax policies, reducing land lease fees, tax extension for damaged Taiwanese firms. Consequently the measures were launched widely and effectively.
On assuring social security in industrial zones, representative of Binh Duong Police stated that the police forces implemented specific measures to enhance security in localities. The provincial police had arrested extreme protesters and would strictly punish them.
On behalf of provincial leaders, Mr. Nam highly valued the understanding and contribution of businesses; he added that provincial authorities had been devoting their efforts helping businesses for instance: setting up support team and information team and effectively deploy the Government direction. Up to now, businesses damage valueing was nearly finished. The province was scheduled to announce the list of enterprises that get support on taxation, custom and land lease fees on June 18, 2014.
Mr. Nam affirmed that Binh Duong province would do its best to help companies resume their normal activities as well as guarantee absolute security for investors.
