Representative of damaged corporates stated the difficulties they were encountering; several businesses are on the verge of bankruptcy because their factories were completely burnt down. The businesses wish to receive support and assistance from Binh Duong Province People’s Committee, especially administrative formalities simplification on business registration, construction, custom procedures, tax reduction, tax exemption as well as social order and social security.

According to statistics, in Di An Town, there are currently 109 businesses that were affected by the illegal marches. 83 of them were located in industrial parks (76 of them were Taiwanese and Chinese companies). The others were located outside industrial parks including: 6 domestic companies, 1 Vietnam - Taiwan joint-venture company, 22 Taiwanese companies and 04 domestic companies. Total damage was approximately 150 billion Vietnam dong.

Speaking at the working session, Mr.Tran Thanh Liem Vice Chairman of Binh Duong Province People’s Committee reassured that Binh Duong authorities would not let the same incident occur again. At the same time they would apply drastic measures to ensure maximum safety for enterprises and workers. In addition, The Province People’s Committee will also direct relevant departments and agencies to create favorable conditions for enterprises to resume production and requested local authorities to statistic the damage of corporates and submit to the Provincial People’s Committee before May 23, 2014.
Vice Chairman Liem also demanded local leaders to propaganda the workers not to join illegal marches, not to go on strike as well as encourage looters to return corporates’ assets.
