According to the report of VSIP, disorder marches of workers had caused considerable damage to a number of corporates operating in VSIP (including VSIP 1 and 2 ), specifically , 04 Chinese and Taiwanese enterprises were burned and 99 businesses were partly affected, mainly gates, fences, windows and the office were broken. Thanks to timely and appropriate measures applied as well as active support from the central government; in May 14, the situation was stabilized. So far, there are more than 82 % of enterprises in VSIP has resumed their operation.
At the meeting, representatives of enterprises in VSIP has also raised some queries on salary, social insurance for employees; plans to support for damaged businesses and ensure absolute safety for workers and enterprises as well as help recover lost data.

Respond to queries, Mr. Bui Huu Phong, Director of Binh Duong Province Social Insurance said that when the incident occurred, the provincial Social Insurance formed and send 30 task forces to companies that were affected by the marches to collect social insurance registers. In order to effectively solve policies for workers, especially businesses that were completely burned, enterprises need to statistic the number of workers for the Social Insurance to support. Social insurance will also provide workers information on businesses’ request.

On slow deployment of security forces, Major General Vo Thanh Duc - Director of Binh Duong Province Public Security said that because the incident occurred too fast and took place simultaneously in towns and Thu Dau Mot city therefore the force was dispersed, divided equally into locations in which there is a maximum safety guarantee for Chinese and Taiwanese professionals. Besides, a number of bad people took advantage of this situation to vandalize and loot corporates’ assets. Currently, the provincial police arrested and will strictly punish these people. Major General Vo Thanh Duc also said the security situation in the province was now safe and the authorities would not let the previous incident happen again.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Thanh Cung, Chairman of Binh Duong Province People’s Committee confirmed that the Government and Binh Duong Province authorities will provide optimal solutions to support damaged companies and properly implement the policies for their employees. For the extremists who vandalized, looted, will be strictly punished. Businesses assets were collected and will be returned soon.
On salary, Chairman of Binh Duong Province People’s Committee requested corporates to coordinate with relevant departments to consent salary rate paid between business and the province to ensure interests of workers and companies. The province will support companies to restore lost data and confirmed that the province will ensure absolute safety for businesses and foreign experts working in Binh Duong province, simultaneously, request corporate overcome difficulties and soon resume production.
On the same day, Deputy Chairmen and relevant departments and agencies also had a meeting with Tan Uyen Town People’s Committee, Ben Cat Town People’s Committee and Di An Town People’s Committee on repairing damages, resuming normal operation.
