A breakthrough in FDI
Thanks to the implementation of favourable policies for investors, until February 15th, 2014, the province lured 123 domestic projects capitalized 650.8 billion dong and 04 expanded companies with 9.2 billion dong. In two months of 2014 to accumulate 258 new domestic companies and 29 expanded projects with the total capital of 1,622 billion dong.
February is considered as the stepping-stone in attracting FDI in the whole year of 2014. Until February 20th, 2014, Binh Duong is the destination of 14 newly registered projects (US$ 205.4 million) and 13 l increased capital projects (US$ 431.1). The FDI accumulation of two first months 2014 reached 22 new projects (US$ 720.4million and increased by 106% against last period) while Vietnam attracts US$ 830.9 million from FDI with 122 projects (source: General Statistics Office).

Stable commercial and service development
Just in the end of 2013, Binh Duong well prepared the plan of goods stock for the New Year Festival 2014; companies stocked abundant goods, limiting the scarce situation and sudden price rise in providing goods. The total goods retail and services in February 2014 reached approximately 8,798 billion dong, CPI increased by 0.63% and 1.44% in comparison with January 2014 and December 2013 respectively. Passenger transportation obtained 2.2 million, increased by 29.7% again January 2014; goods transportation reached 7.467 million tons, raised by 3.6% compared to last period.
The abundant goods met the demands of local residents in the New Year Festival 2014
Export turnover was estimated to reach US$ 899 million, rose by 25.3%. All key exported goods highly rose: textile and garment: 36.7%; shoes: 9.3%; handcrafts: 17.6%, electronics: 36.6%... Import turnover obtained US$733 million, increased by 25%, exporting principally equipments, machines for business.
Ensure the social policies
Social affairs are ensured in various forms by multi levels and branches on the occasion of the New Year Festival, the province spent about 278 billion dong (03.5billion dong from central budget and 187.2 from provincial budget) to beneficiaries.
