People’s Council Vice- Chairwoman Tran Thi Kim Van and leaders of related departments attended the meeting.
At the event, Deputy Secretary of Binh Duong Party Committee - Chairman of People’s Committee Le Thanh Cung briefly introduced the provincial socio-economic development in the previous time. Currently, 14,600 domestic enterprises and 2,200 foreign projects are operating in 27 industrial Parks and 08 industrial clusters. The total foreign investment reaches US$ 18.6, in which, 24 projects of French investors worth US$ 110 million. In addition, Binh Duong also pays great attention to social security policy including housing, education and health.
Ms. Lydia Samarbakhsh was impressed by Binh Duong achievement and evaluated Binh Duong province as one of provinces and Cities which have potentialities to develop in the future. She also informed that the visit of Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung (from September 24 to September 26, 2013) deepened the friendship relation between Vietnam and French. Joint Declaration on upgrading the relations to a strategic partnership between Vietnam and France was signed, facilitating their localities to enhance the cooperation on diplomacy, national security-defense, economics-trade-investment, development - cooperation, culture-education-training, scientific research, justice and the environment.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Le Thanh Cung believed that many agreements on different fields will be signed by Vietnam and France in general and by French provinces, Cities and Binh Duong province, especially once the Trans-Pacific Partnership will be signed and take effect.
