Introduction
Made from special red rice, Bung market’s shredded pork steamed rice cake (Binh Duong) (especially My Lien steamed rice cake Restaurant) offers special flavor. The cake has stir-fried meat mixed with “thinh” (well-ground fried rice), served with chili fish sauce.
Different to other steamed rice cake, Bung market shredded pork steamed rice cake (Binh Duong) is made from raw rice that has been treated thoroughly. In the past, almost cake was made from red rice, that special rice regardless of how long pounded still has rosy pink, not white. So that, in order to have delicious steamed rice cake, rice need to be ground into flour, then mixed with coconut milk. After well preparing the rice powder in coconut milk, the maker can pour into the molds and steamed it thoroughly.
The next step is to cook green beans well, stirring it to spread over the rice cake. Pork after stir-fried with coconut juice, is shredded into small thread, mixed with “thinh” to make good smell and delicious. The delicious sauce is made from fish sauce with garlic, chili and lemon.
