These two new cases are in Ca Na hamlet, An Binh commune, Phu Giao district (F1 of patient 1801 and a family member of patient 1843) and were taken for concentrated quarantine on January 30, 2021, with the 1st test negative for SARS-CoV-2. At the quarantine area, sampling for 2nd test with positive result for SARS-CoV-2.
The Department of Health provided additional information, all F1 cases, who were in very close contact with female student of Thu Dau Mot University with Covid -19 (patient 1843), tested negative for SARS-CoV-2, and also identified the infectious source of patient 1843 from patient 1801.
According to the Director of the Pasteur Institute Phan Trong Lan, the cases in Binh Duong are related to each other, the infectious source identified is patient 1801. Particularly, 02 new cases on February 02, 2021, were detected positive while in the quarantine area and all cases exposed to these 2 new cases have been traced to quarantine, if new cases are detected, the exposure cases have been traced to quarantine, so there is little risk of infection to the community. Moreover, these two cases were negative before quarantine, so it is unlikely to infect those exposed before the quarantine. For the case with 525 F1 people of patient 1843, there were 405 people have test results, 120 people will have the results tonight. If all F1 are negative, all are not likely to spread the pandemic and by the end of the quarantine day without any positive F1, all F1 are healthy; so, Binh Duong will be safe. Through a report on the situation of the Health branch, the Director said that, basically, Binh Duong is controlling the pandemic.
Talking to the Binh Duong portal about cases in Binh Duong General Hospital involving patient 1843, Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Hong Chuong said that on February 01, 2021, receiving information that patient 1843 came to the General Hospital of Binh Duong province, to visit her friend who had an traffic accident, through reviewing and tracing, the Health branch identified that patient 1843 entered the Hospital wearing a mask and did not contact anyone on the way to the Hospital and came to the Department of Orthopedics to visit her friend in 30 minutes. The Health branch sampled to test for the friend exposed to patient 1843 with negative result. Tonight, the Hospital will conduct steps of tracing and sampling to test for patients in close contact with patient 1843 in the hospital room. Currently, the test results for all close contact patients have not had, so the Hospital has closed two departments of the Hospital. When the test results are good, the Hospital will take the next steps with the help of the Pasteur Institute to make people feel secure. Doctor Chuong also said that through camera extraction in the Hospital, the number of people who were in close contact with patient 1843 was not much, about more than 10 people. According to the assessment of the Pasteur Institute, the time when the patient 1843 coming to the Hospital was more than 2 days before the incubation period, so the possibility of infection to those that the patient 1843 exposed in the hospital is very low.
