The project has a total investment of 835 billion VND (equivalent to more than 34.4 million USD), of which the value of the organic fertilizer unit is 364 billion VND (nearly 15 million USD), the value of the incinerator combined with electricity generation is 471 billion VND (more than 19.4 million USD). The project uses loans from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) of 20 million USD, equivalent to 480 billion VND.
Accordingly, the plant's capacity to receive and classify waste for organic fertilizer is increased to 2,520 tons/day, and the ability to burn waste increased to 400 tons/day. There is an incinerator with a capacity of 200 tons/day combined with a power generation capacity of 5MW, meeting 80% of the electricity demand for production and business activities at Binh Duong Solid Waste Treatment Complex.
This is also a backup plan for the next few years to ensure the ability to receive and process waste throughout the province, turning all daily household waste into many useful, scientific products including renewable energy (electricity), organic fertilizer, and construction materials, in line with the trend of "waste is a resource" and current circular economy.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Tuong Van assessed that this is a large significant project for the socio-economic development of Binh Duong province, towards sustainable development and environmental protection. He requested the province to coordinate with industries and enterprises to continue practical actions to solve the problem of solid waste, be responsible for solid waste management and environmental protection, and direct the implementation of the national environmental protection strategy. At the same time, the province must research to master technology and effectively manage and operate projects.
Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung speaks at the ceremony
On behalf of the provincial leaders, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung highly appreciated the efforts, approaches, and methods of BIWASE. With the orientation of developing Binh Duong into a modern urban, industrial, and service area of regional and international stature, Binh Duong will continue to be a place that attracts labor sources from provinces and cities to work and reside. This also leads to an increase in solid waste in the near future. To ensure the development of a green Binh Duong, he hoped that BIWASE would continue to research and apply new and modern science and technology to reach 100% of waste generated in the province to be converted into useful products and progress to zero emissions.
