Overview of the Conference

According to the report, in 2023, the socio-economic situation of the district achieved positive results. There were 19 out of 20 targets that met the plan, of which 11 targets exceeded the plan. The average per capita income of the district reached 76.6 million VND per capita per year, an increase of 5.66%. Budget revenue exceeded the target assigned by the province. Of which, domestic revenue was over 486,000 million VND, reaching 135% of the adjusted revenue estimate. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue reached 12,406 billion VND, an increase of 20.38% over the same period. Agricultural production value reached 5,816 billion VND, an increase of 6.68%.

Considering 2024 as "The year of digital transformation and focusing on environmental landscape construction", the district People's Committee set main targets. Particularly, focusing on solutions to increase people's income to 84 million VND/person/year; ensuring 10/10 communes meet new sustainable rural standards, 1 commune meets model rural standards, and more than 95% of the people participate in Health Insurance. The targets also include promoting high-tech agricultural production, increasing its value by 6-8%; organizing quarterly meetings to solve problems for businesses, promoting production and business, and increasing industrial production value by 12-14%; focusing on proactively commercial service sector attraction and increasing its value by 20-22%. The province strives for domestic revenue to reach and exceed the proposed resolution, and each commune has at least one product following the OCOP (one commune one product) project, etc.

At the Conference, the district People's Committee suggested the PPC as well as departments and branches consider solving the problems in the fields of public investment, upgrading transportation routes, installing lights on some routes, arranging capital sources to implement projects, etc. Those suggestions were given answers and specific instructions by departments and branches.

Speaking at the Conference, Vice Chairman of the PPC Nguyen Van Danh appreciated the 2023 achievements of Phu Giao district. As 2024 is predicted to be still challenging, he requested Phu Giao district Party Committee always be prepared to respond to unexpected difficulties and challenges. The district must complete economic targets given by the province. Based on answers from the provincial departments and branches, the district must review the suggestions and strictly follow the instructions. At the same time, it needs to proactively perform tasks within authority. Regarding planning works, it is necessary to pay attention to planning industrial zones and clusters. In the coming Lunar New Year, the district also must ensure well social security and take care of the people during the Lunar New Year Festival.
