PORTAL - Could you please tell us why Binh Duong continues to be chosen by Horasis to host the 2023 Asia Meeting?

Mr. Mai Hung Dung: Horasis organization has very confidently chosen Binh Duong as the place to organize the Meeting in 2023. In my opinion, Binh Duong province has successfully organized the Meeting many times and has full facilities to organize this international conference with working sessions taking place in parallel. Binh Duong is also evaluated by scientists, speakers, and investors as a dynamic province in economic development, recovering quickly after the Covid-19 pandemic and having many opportunities to attract investment. Those are the reasons I think the Meeting Organizing Committee chose Binh Duong as the meeting place in 2023 with the participation of more than 300 speakers from 60 countries around the world. The Meeting will have plenary sessions and parallel dialogue sessions focusing on economic development in Asia and the Southeast Asia region with topics such as addressing climate change, sustainable development, and AI technology in advanced manufacturing, etc. Through exchanges and discussions at the Meeting, new visions consistent with the current situation and trends will be brought to organizations, enterprises, and managers in Binh Duong to access and promptly grasp knowledge, vision, new trends of the times, and advanced technologies to serve the construction and socio-economic development of Binh Duong.

PORTAL - What opportunities has the participation in the Horasis and hosting of the annual Horasis Meetings in the past 3 years brought to Binh Duong, sir?

Mr. Mai Hung Dung: It can be affirmed that the clear benefits that the 2023 Asia Meeting brings are cooperation and investment opportunities for Binh Duong province, shown through the events that the Horasis Meeting in Binh Duong has attracted many high-quality investors with large capital, high science and technology, and good environmental protection awareness have been registering to invest in Binh Duong. Furthermore, this is also an opportunity to promote the Binh Duong brand with domestic and foreign partners. Thereby, investors know that Binh Duong is a dynamically developing province of Viet Nam, always innovating in accordance with the economic development trends of Asia and the world, and is an ideal destination for investors.

PORTAL: For the enterprise community operating in production and business activities in Binh Duong province, what is the meaning of this Meeting, sir?

Mr. Mai Hung Dung: During the dialogue sessions, the province invited enterprises and industry associations operating in Binh Duong province to exchange and interact with enterprises and scientists around the world. I think this is a great opportunity for managers and enterprise community of Binh Duong to exchange and connect with a network of senior leaders, especially founders, presidents, and CEOs of leading Asian companies as well as leaders of global enterprises, aiming to improve the ability to find new opportunities and partners, jointly develop governance capacity, science and technology levels, promote trade, attract investment, and expand cooperation between Viet Nam, Asia and the world.

PORTAL: Could you please tell us what experience this year's Horasis Meeting is expected to help Binh Duong gain to realize the province's development goals?

Mr. Mai Hung Dung: At the 2023 Horasis Asia Meeting, in addition to speakers exchanging management experiences and vibrant development practices in Asia, the contents of parallel workshop sessions also help managers of Binh Duong like departments, branches, districts, towns, civil servants learn from world experiences to incorporate into the management of Binh Duong province through topics: Addressing climate change, green energy conversion, innovation, etc. Binh Duong will have 02 parallel dialogue sessions at the Meeting including "Binh Duong: Smart Community" and "Binh Duong: Innovation and Industry 4.0" for provincial leaders and leaders of departments and branches to have new perspectives to apply to local State management practices, especially in the process of building smart cities.

We hope that departments, branches, districts, towns, and media agencies widely propagate these contents so that more people know about the 2023 Horasis Asia Meeting and access scientific knowledge to develop together.

PORTAL: At this year's Meeting, Binh Duong will be announced as TOP1 ICF. Could you please tell us what this means for the province?? After achieving TOP1, how will Binh Duong continue to implement smart city development orientation in the coming time, sir?

Mr. Mai Hung Dung: At the end of November 2023, the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) held a meeting in New York (USA) and voted Binh Duong to win the ICF's highest award in 2023 (TOP 1 ICF). This proves that the programs, plans and development orientations proposed by the province are consistent with ICF criteria. Typically, the criteria are to create conditions for citizens to have equal digital access, the poor and disadvantaged in society to have better development conditions, "leaving no one behind", etc. This is the pride of Binh Duong, but it also poses many things for the province that need to continue to pay attention to investment with the ultimate goal of serving people and enterprises in Binh Duong to develop better.

After achieving TOP1 ICF, the province will continue to promote the results it has achieved during the past time, developing the Binh Duong brand to the world. At the same time, focusing on investing in information technology infrastructure to create conditions for equal digital access, especially for disadvantaged people in society. Focusing on administrative reform, digital transformation, applying information technology to all aspects of State management, improving services, creating the most favorable conditions for people and enterprises.

On the basis of the Smart City Project for the 2016-2020 period, from 2021 until now, Binh Duong has built an Innovation Region to promote innovation through activities such as building FabLabs and TechLabs, bringing science and technology into all stages of the enterprise's production process, etc. These contents have been implemented quite well by universities and science and technology enterprises in the province. The next stage needs to focus on helping the startup community better understand and participate more deeply in the innovation process. This is the province's desire to promote the development of small and medium-sized enterprises using science and technology.

By doing these things well, I believe that Binh Duong will maintain its brand and grow stronger in the 4.0 era.

Since 2009, Horasis Asia Meeting has become the most important annual meeting of Asian enterprise leaders and global partners to discuss issues related to the Asian economy.

The 2023 Horasis Asia Meeting is organized in the form of a world economic forum, including 06 plenary sessions, 28 dialogue and discussion sessions taking place in parallel.
