Overview of the meeting between leaders of Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi Prefectural government
In December 2014, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi Prefecture signed a Memorandum of Understanding on friendly cooperation. This is a very important event, a very meaningful milestone, making an important contribution to strengthening and developing the friendship and cooperation between the two provinces over the past time, demonstrated through the working visits of the two localities' leaders, especially the "Meeting Japan" Program on the occasion of the 50th founding anniversary of Japanese diplomatic relations in Binh Duong.
Binh Duong is also an attractive destination for Japanese investors. Currently, Japan is ranked 2nd among 65 countries and territories with investment projects in Binh Duong with 351 projects, total capital of nearly 6 billion USD.

Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Hoang Thao affirmed that after 50 years of Japan and Viet Nam establishing diplomatic relations, the friendship and cooperation between the two countries has continuously developed comprehensively in many fields such as politics, economics, culture, sports. He hoped that Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi Prefecture would strengthen development cooperation in areas of strength and people-to-people exchanges. He believed that the close relationship between Binh Duong and Yamaguchi will become a model in the cooperation, friendship and diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan, contributing to promoting stronger and deeper development of relations between the two countries.

Mr. Muraoka Tsugumasa - Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture said that over the past years, Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture have strengthened friendly cooperation through the exchange of high-level delegations as well as organizing investment promotion seminars to attract investment to Binh Duong province. The Governor of Yamaguchi prefecture affirmed that he will continue to inform enterprises of Yamaguchi prefecture about Binh Duong province's potentials, and at the same time make more efforts to create a bridge between the two provinces in cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.
