In recent times, Binh Duong has always been a bright spot in socio-economic development, attracting investment from the whole country. With an open and attractive investment environment, Binh Duong currently ranks 2nd in the country in attracting foreign investment capital, after Ho Chi Minh City. In the first 9 months of 2023 alone, the province has attracted 1 billion 557 million USD including 93 new projects, 38 projects to adjust capital increase and 106 projects to contribute capital to buy shares. Accumulated as of September 30, 2023, the whole province has 4,175 investment projects from 65 countries and territories with a total registered capital of more than 40 billion USD; in which Italy ranks 29th with 08 investment projects and a total capital of nearly 64 million USD, operating mainly in the field of processing industry, manufacturing and production of garment products, fashion accessories, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung said that in addition to promoting socio-economic development, Binh Duong also actively expands bilateral and multilateral cooperation on many areas. To date, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperative relationships with 13 foreign provinces and cities, including the Emilia - Romagna region of the Italian Republic. The friendly cooperative relationship between the two localities has been implemented effectively and in depth. In addition, the Emilia - Romagna region has also established a Representative Office in Binh Duong province since 2015 to support bilateral investment promotion. In addition, Becamex IDC Corp has also signed and implemented effective cooperation with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the Emilia-Romagna region and the Veneto region of Italy.

Along with that, Binh Duong province has actively cooperated with foreign partners to build and implement the Smart City Project and Binh Duong Innovation Region, including the Binh Duong Science and Technology Industrial Park Project with the vision of becoming an Innovation Center of the Southern Key Economic Region. At the same time, the province is actively implementing digital transformation to promote green and sustainable development; at the same time, prioritizing attracting investment in high-tech, advanced, environmentally friendly industries and fields that create high added value from developed countries and the world's leading potential partners with modern management skills, including Italian partners.
The Permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC believed that with the continuous construction and upgrading of infrastructure, especially transportation infrastructure along with training high quality human resources, Binh Duong will create good conditions for Italian enterprises to invest and develop in the province.
Sharing with the provincial leaders about this visit to Viet Nam, Mr. Attilio Fontana - President of the Lombardy region affirmed that Viet Nam is an important partner; at the same time, highly appreciated the potential for sustainable and comprehensive development of Viet Nam with the right development orientations and policies, suitable for both economic, social and environmental aspects, especially the "people-centered" perspective and an abundant young population.
