Informing at the ceremony, Binh Duong Customs Department said that the export shipment is cassava starch, food grade with a quantity of 499.7 tons, packed in 19 40" containers under export declaration no. 305837401940/B11 dated September 25, 2023. The declaration is classified as green by the Automatic Data Processing System (VNACCS-VSIS) (exempt from checking detailed documents, exempting from physical inspection of goods and receiving automatic customs clearance).
According to the transportation schedule, on September 27, 2023, the shipment was transported to Song Than Station and loaded onto railroad cars for transport to Yen Vien Station (Ha Noi). Here, the shipment continues to be transferred to a railroad car with 1,400 millimeters gauge for transport to Dong Dang station (Lang Son) and complete export procedures to China.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Tran Hieu - Director of Binh Duong Customs Department said that Song Than Station is an international intermodal railway station and the largest freight station in the South, as well as a technical station, with 13 loading and unloading tracks and 7 cargo yards with a 1,726 kilometers long North-South railway line,single road of 1,000 millimeters gauge, running on the North-South axis, which is a great traffic advantage of the province. However, up to now, Song Than Station only serves domestic freight transportation, has not participated in export or import activities, and has not promoted the potential of export and import freight transportation. Therefore, improving the capacity of Song Than International Intermodal Station to serve international intermodal freight transport is important in the economic development of Binh Duong Province in general and efforts to promote export and import activities via the railway of Binh Duong Province Customs Department in particular.
It is expected that at the end of September and early October 2023, Viet Nam Railway Corporation will have a shipment (test, 1-2 containers from many different goods owners) imported from China into the CFS warehouse - TBS Tan Van (under the management of Customs Branch in Binh Duong General Port Border Gate - belonging to Binh Duong Customs Department). Then, depending on the situation and purpose of using imported materials, enterprises (goods owners) register customs declarations according to corresponding types (business, processing, production, export, etc.) to serve production, business and consumption.

Mr. Nguyen Tran Hieu emphasized that currently, enterprises that are in the recovery phase after the Covid - 19 outbreak are facing difficulties in terms of reduced orders. In addition, enterprises are also affected by the global economic recession related to the Russia-Ukraine conflict, causing raw material and fuel costs to increase, affecting the competitiveness of most enterprises. Therefore, in the context of common difficulties, directing enterprises to expand transportation methods by rail will help reduce transportation costs and shorten goods delivery time. In addition, the transported goods are guaranteed to be safe, not subject to impact or damage, and ensure that the goods are transported on schedule without being delayed like other modes of transportation such as sea, road, and air. Another important benefit is that export goods transported by rail will be transported directly across the border, without congestion at the border gate like when transported by road during the past time. Especially for goods that are agricultural products, have a short storage time, and need fast transportation time to promptly deliver goods to Chinese customers through the Northern border gates, the use of freight transport services by rail is the most optimal solution to help reduce costs and increase profits for enterprises. Thereby, helping to improve the competitiveness as well as the reputation and position of the enterprises with foreign partners.

Transporting exported and imported goods through railway stations generally solves the overload of goods transported by road, promoting the development of the rail transport industry to speed up the circulation of goods, thereby promoting the production of goods of enterprises in the province, increasing the export and import turnover of goods. Another benefit in the future is to create conditions for the formation of a logistics center in the province and the entire Southeast region,leading to an increase in the supply of accompanying services, creating jobs for workers, ensuring security and social order in the area, increasing budget revenue, economic growth, contributing to achieving the goal of economic restructuring of Binh Duong province.
