Foreign affairs achieve many outstanding results
Speaking at the opening of the Program, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that the "Meet Japan 2023" Program in Binh Duong province is a large-scale event in a series of events organized by Vietnamese localities, to make a practical contribution to the celebration of the 50th establishing anniversary of Viet Nam - Japan diplomatic relations. This is also an important opportunity for localities and investors of the two countries to evaluate and promote the achievements of cooperation, thereby continuing to promote economic diplomacy, enhance common understanding and strengthening the extensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated the economic diplomacy and international integration work of Binh Duong province. Investment and trade promotion activities with international partners are a highlight of the whole country. The dynamism and creativity of Binh Duong province in organizing the Program with diverse activities and side events, contributes to consolidating and strengthening the extensive friendship and cooperation between Binh Duong province and Japanese partners. The Deputy Minister hoped that the two sides will continue to exploit and realize the potential for cooperation with specific projects, bringing practical benefits, creating more room for new development cooperation between Binh Duong province and Japanese partners.
At the Program, on behalf of the provincial leaders, the PPC Chairman Vo Van Minh informed about the socio-economic situation and outstanding results in the province's foreign affairs. The PPC Chairman said that in the first 6 months of 2023, the province's socio-economic situation continued to achieve positive results in all fields. The index of industrial production is estimated to increase by 2.1% over the same period; export turnover is estimated at 15.1 billion USD; import turnover is estimated at 10.7 billion USD. Binh Duong is currently a province with strong industrial development with 29 industrial parks; is Viet Nam's second-ranked province in attracting foreign investment capital (after Ho Chi Minh City) with nearly 4,150 projects from 65 countries and territories, total investment capital of more than 40 billion USD. Among them, there are many large investment projects of famous corporations in the world that have invested in Binh Duong such as: Tokyu, Aeon, Mitsubishi (Japan), Lego, Pandora (Denmark), Procter & Gamble (USA), Kumho (Korea), Mapletree (Singapore), etc. Currently, Japan is the second largest investor in Binh Duong province with 350 projects and a total investment capital of 5.9 billion USD.

Along with promoting economic diplomacy activities, Binh Duong always actively expands bilateral and multilateral cooperation with foreign localities and international organizations. Up to now, Binh Duong province has established bilateral cooperative relationships with 13 foreign localities; of which, there were 09 years of establishing friendly cooperative relations with Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan.
Regarding multilateral cooperation, Binh Duong is an official member and a reliable partner of 03 international organizations, including: Intelligence Community Forum (ICF), Horasis Asia Meeting and World Trade Centers Association (WTCA); In particular, Binh Duong has been honored by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF) to be in the TOP7 - one of 07 communities with a typical Smart Development Strategy in the World for 3 consecutive years 2021-2023.
The PPC Chairman Vo Van Minh thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Japanese Embassy in Viet Nam, the Japanese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Japanese associations and enterprises in Viet Nam and in Binh Duong province, the Japanese enterprise community of Binh Duong province that have coordinated and provided valuable support to Binh Duong province during the past time. Binh Duong provincial authorities at all levels are always committed to creating favorable conditions for the enterprise community in general and the Japanese enterprise community in particular to conduct production, business and commercial activities, etc. in the most favorable conditions. Binh Duong hopes to continue to receive the support and cooperation of the Japanese community to contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the province.

Speaking at the Program, Mr. Muraoka Tsugumasa - Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture emphasized that over the past time, the friendly cooperative relationship between Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture has achieved outstanding results and has been increasingly strengthened. The Governor believed that in the coming time, the two localities will continue to have working visits and promote cooperation in the fields of health, education, culture and society, especially in the innovation and smart city construction. On this occasion, Binh Duong PPC awarded Investment Certificates and Construction Licenses to 04 Japanese enterprises. Specifically, awarding the Construction Investment Certificate for the AEON General Merchandise Store and Supermarket project - Binh Duong New City in 2023 with a total investment capital of 5.1 million USD to AEON Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (100% Japanese investment capital). Awarding the Investment Certificate to build a branch factory of SKM Viet Nam Co., Ltd. with a total investment of 10 million USD to SKM Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (100% Japanese investment capital). The company specializes in manufacturing machinery and equipment components and providing quality Japanese products in Viet Nam.

The company specializes in manufacturing and processing flexible printed circuit (FPC) products, precision electronic materials, electrical materials, and semiconductor-related products; all kinds of optical components; manufacturing and processing integrated circuit (CIS) products. Awarding the License to build factories and auxiliary works of YUWA Viet Nam Co., Ltd. (phase 5) with a total investment capital of 40 million USD. The company specializes in manufacturing connector components, relay components, switch components, automotive components, medical equipment components, other types of components, molds, machinery, equipment used for production, other types of components used in electronic equipment, medical equipment and instruments.

The People's Committee of Binh Duong province and Yamaguchi prefecture also signed a cooperation agreement in the field of nursing.
