The drainage and wastewater treatment project in Ben Cat area, Binh Duong province participating in the Public Sector Investment Facility (PIF) - Finland is estimated to have a total investment of more than 56 million USD. In which, ODA from PIF is more than 32 million USD (accounting for 57.51%).
Overview of the meeting
At the meeting, Ms. Maija Seppala informed that the drainage and wastewater treatment project in Ben Cat area, Binh Duong province participating in the Public Sector Investment Facility (PIF) - Finland has been approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Finland for further development and is funded by Finland's public investment incentives in Viet Nam. In order for the project to be approved, besides the project appraisal results, the Government of Finland highly appreciates the management capacity of Binh Duong province. Like previous cooperation projects between Finland and Binh Duong, she hoped this project will continue to contribute to improving the life quality of Binh Duong people. She said that the purpose of this mission is to capture information about the upcoming preparation plan for the project of Binh Duong province so that the Government of Finland can support and coordinate the implementation.

In response to information from Ms. Maija Seppala, permanent Vice Chairman of the PPC Mai Hung Dung was delighted and thanked the Government of Finland for the support given to Binh Duong province. With 50 years of establishing a cooperative relationship between the Governments of Viet Nam and Finland, Binh Duong has been effectively supported by the Government of Finland in the province's waste treatment programs. Currently, four major cities in the South of the province have wastewater treatment plants. With the province's plan to develop Ben Cat Town into Ben Cat City, the drainage and wastewater treatment project in Ben Cat area will make an important contribution to the completion of the province's plan. Regarding the upcoming preparation plan for the project, he said, the province is currently collecting comments from departments, branches to submit to the Prime Minister for approval. He hoped that in the next steps of the project, the support of the Government of Finland will always be available for the project to be implemented soon.
